Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

So my gf broke up with me a few weeks ago. She apologized a week later but I just was still pissed about the whole to be honest so I wasn't receptive. Anyways she and I haven't talked in weeks. Based on her snaps she seems just fine.

On Tuesday I get text from her saying hey headed home (she lives a few hours away) I left some stuff for you by the front door. I told my roommate to go outside and check and to bring it in. I replied back ok thanks. A few minutes later I sent her another text saying that my roommate just told me and that I was in LA (her city). All she said back was no problem...okay cool.

I get back to my town today and in the bag she has a note that says hope all is well. It's been a while. Ran into your roommate this weekend and heard that you're moving soon. I was just concerned so I go you a few pick me ups. Could be wrong and if I am just take it as a housewarming and pay it forward.

What the heck?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

It's called "pitty", she's probably traded you in for what she considers an upgrade and feels sorry for you, being up and dumped like that. No contact her, you deserve a lot better than some token attempt at bs. Take some time to hit the gym, and work on self improvement.

How was that a token attempt?

I'll ask this though; don't you think that when I said I'm in her city she would've at least tried to link up or something instead of just saying ohok cool?

I'm guessing she liked you as a person, just not enough for a boyfriend and she feels bad for ending it so this is her way of trying to soften the blow.

I had a girlfriend that I broke up with several years ago. She was missing a few things personality wise but on the flip side, She was a good person, very sweet, good girlfriend, good sechs, fun times, etc. When I broke up with her it crushed her. I felt bad because I hurt somebody that was truly a good person and had a good heart. So when I returned her stuff, I gave her a card and wrote some nice things about her and thanked her for what we had. I heard from a friend that it confused her, but it was my way of saying thank you and I still thought highly of her. My intentions were not to confuse or rekindle something. Just simply wanted her to know I appreciated what we did have, but it was time to move on.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

the worst you can get, when dumped, is unclair communication.

at the end you are 2 adults with a non working story. it's a duty of both to stay respectful (unless abuse or something) and try to end up with a good vibe.

the chance is high the other one still has hope. it's nice to write some kind words, but repeating that your choice for break-up was still the best choice should be added too, to avoid the idea of rekindling. it's a detail for the 1 who dumped, but very important for the other one.

last 2 months i was in a rolercoaster due unclair and double communication of the ex.
And then she goes suddenly cold turkey. it's horrifying and destroyes even the positive things.
A break-up is never fun, but this is dirty.

It depends the other one, but once when I broke up with a girl I gave her all the time to let her feed away slowly. After all, we became
best friends. Afterwards, she told me I did the best to help her healing.

There is no double communication, just simply you refusing to believe the truth and wanting what she says to mean something else.
Once you break up there should NEVER be any thoughts of getting back together. It's over, move on. You are a man, all that emotional BS is for women.

Sure double (abusive) communication exists. But also true you are able to not allow this and close the case yourself from second 1.

It is a token attempt in that she's trying to make up for being guilty about dumping you, so is making a half ass effort at making you feel a bit better, with the kind words and care package. No it makes perfect sense that she didn't care you were in her city, because shes not interested in hanging out or dating you. Look man rejection always hurts and it always sucks, but it is a double edged sword. It will provide the fuel for you to have the motivation to work on yourself and build much stronger game. If you make the most of this situation, you will arrive at a point where you'll be with a much hotter/better girl a few years from now, thanking this one for moving out of your life so you could find better. You'll also appreciate all the growth and improvement this situation created eventually for you. You'll get to a point where you could have her but won't want her anymore, because your standards have gone so far past her.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Monkey branch guilt.... She's done with you... use this gift to go find better women. Take the pain of rejection and turn it to action to improve yourself. Improve yourself.... become a better man and you will find girls twice as good as that one.

Thanks. I appreciate the insight.

Well she just put some old inside jokes kind of gifts inside of the bag. A movie I like. Favorite candy bar. A joke. Just a few of those things.

So no matter the content of the bag, how thoughtful it was, or the effort she put into it if she didn't say she had missed me, wanted to get together, or anything of that nature I should just take the bag as a friendly gesture?

Damn that story hit home haha. Curious, did she say thank you for the card or anything?

Nope, but 2yrs later we hung out and she reminded me that I hurt her. She was over it by then, but she wasn't going to come running back to me, although she wished I would have begged her for forgiveness and tried to get in her good graces. I wasn't going to beg or plead for anything, that relinquishes all power.

She's hoovering.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

A woman should only get once chance per lifetime to ever dump you.

This is what it means to have self-respect. You don't waste time on women who are not attracted to you. So why are you still talking to this b!tch? Once a woman dumps you she is toast. You have to move on. I don't care if she claims she wants to get back together or she "made a mistake". Once she dumps you she is down to sex toy/booty call status for life if anything. B!tches get ONE chance with you. That's it. Respect yourself.

Once a woman knows she can disrespect you and you will respond with "Thank you.. may I have another?" she knows you're a faggot. She will take advantage of this down the road. I would do the same thing. If I can treat a b!tch like dirt and she responds by treating me even better than before.. then I learn its best to treat her like dirt.

Dignity > Women

Giving a woman another chance to reject you or dump you is a sign of desperation, low self-esteem and low value. Stop being emo faggots and learn to walk away from manipulative c*nts.

Bang on 100%. 1 chance per lifetime. Couldn't agree more.

Women will dump men multiple times just for the fun watching them fall. It's like Lucy from Peanuts with the football. She wants you to keep trying to kick it. I genuinely feel bad when I have to dump a nice person. Women do not. They love it. Don't give her the satisfaction. Walk away, Charlie Brown!

Don't doubt a second, even when in tears, about that manipulative ... otherwise they would behave sincere and thought twice before ending the LTR, and even have maybe an open chat to communicate (better). Rather a basic for more stable things.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
