Take a defensive stance like your going to fight a man, keeping your vitals protected and fight it.

You're not going to out run it.

Test out Dog Visperer's theories by not giving in and acting like an alpha dog. Running is probably he thinks you're weak, so stop running and confront.

If the dog is foaming at the mouth it could have rabies. Rabid dogs don't care if you are bigger, have a weapon or anything...they will attack you. Also, even if it isn't rabid but is a pitbull or similar breed it can kill your ass. Your only hope IF attacked is a knife to slit the dog's throat, a hose of running water or a break stick...but even with a break stick you would have to be able to restrain the dog as soon as you broke the hold it had.

I had a huge Mastiff jump out a car window and make a bee line towards me once. It was a neighbor's dog and was always tied up and it had seen me walking many times so I knew it was familiar with me. I just stood there and called it to me by saying "Here boy!". His tail started wagging and he ran to me and I held his collar and petted him while the owners pulled over and collected him. He always barked and growled at people when they walked by, but dogs like that will behave that way because they feel like they are guarding the property. They usually act much different when they are loose, though. I owned pitbulls for about 15 years prior to this, though, so I'm not at all afraid of dogs that look scary.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Oh yea, dogs are dangerous. They can go for the jagular and kill. We had several incidents in Miami. 100% of the time this happens to weak people, no offense to those, but those who afraid of dogs get hurt by dogs.

Pitbulls are a great dog, IMO. They're just like any dog, when neglected they can go crazy.

I watch Dog Visperer show when I can, I think it's great. A lot of the things shown on that show are also true in PUA world, especially when it comes to alpha behaviour. It's amazing.

Pitbulls require a tremendous amount of care and knowledge...and most people who get them don't know how to take care of them. They are GREAT family dogs but will get into trouble if you screw up as an owner. You NEVER put a pitbull in a position where it feels like it is "guarding" the property or anything or anyone. That is when they are dangerous to people. As a rule, pitbulls are not aggressive towards people...UNLESS they think they are guarding/protecting someone or something. Never tie them outside unattended...never, never, never. If the fence is not at least 8 feet tall with a foot or two deep concrete footer all along the fence...don't leave them in a fenced yard unattended either. They can get over a 6 foot fence and will dig under a fence. A large kennel with a concrete pad larger than the kennel is okay, though. Don't ever leave a pitbull alone with another dog or cat...because they are naturally gamey...it's the breed. One pitbull can kill a bull...they were bred to bait bulls way back in the day. Always have a pitbull on a leash when off your fenced in property and carry a break stick in case another loose dog comes up to your dog...and know how to use it. Pits need a ton of exercise and play...they LOVE to play hard. If you own a pit...DON'T hit anyone in front of them...they are very loyal and will attack whoever you hit. Many cases of pits killing kids inside the home happen because the parent was spanking their kid in front of the dog and the dog thought they were protecting their owner. If someone gets a pitbull to use them in dogfights the owner deserves to be strung to the highest tree by their balls and left there to die.

The dog was an AFC! lol

In all seriousness most fvcked up dogs are due to their fvcked up owners who don't know how to take care of them and end up ruining them. Many owners who own aggrassive dogs that are responsible for the majority of attacks on people like the pitbull, Mastiff or a rottweiler are doing so to appear hard and tough but have no clue how train them.

In most cases if you see a dog charging towards you is:

a) Don't run- unless you can climb on something real high near by, a dog natural instinct will kick in and he will start chasing your ass and will try to stop you with his teeths.

b) Don't look stright into the dogs eyes- he will see that as you trying to challenge him and will prepare for a fight. Look at the ground.

C) don't scream or move your arms around really fast - you will only excite the dog. That is the reason why kids and women tend to get bitten more.

Be calm and collective. The dog will likely stop to sniff you so its best not to show fear. Let him even sniff your hands if he doesn't act aggrassive and talk to him in a calm voice. If he gets excited you can always use a command to tell him to " sit!" or "go home!" stuff that his owners probably used and it might resonant in his primitive brain.

However if the owner tells the dog to attack you, then you are fvcked or sometimes there is nothing you can do once a dog charge you. You best best is to try grab a weapon of some sort to hit the dog in the head and repeat saying "no!" or try to kick him in the balls. If you find yourself on the ground, try to protect your neck and face.

Great sh1t! Next time I get another girl who wants pitbull I tell her this. She'd think I'm knowledgeable about pitbulls, like I had one, and it will make me the dominant one.

We are men and the dog respects men as men. A dog knows that the man is its master.

I had a situation where a german shephard was lose came right towards me and started growling. I just stood still and held my ground. The dog walked across the street and I proceeded to walk again. Next thing you know the dog comes back and starts growling again.

I kicked that dog right on its chin and the dog took off running.

Moral of the story is that we as men are above dog. I felt so Alpha that day.

Damn I really screwed up I did everything your not suppose to do!

I was in Colorado for summer camp when I was in 6th grade, very AFC/Nice guy I weighted around 120 pounds. Anyway the camp had 6 dogs (All big or medium avg. 100 pounds), 2 of them were wild and the people at the camp took them in. I only got along with 2 of the dogs, 4 of them didn't like me. So one day, everyone was inside eating lunch and I went out to get something from my tent. I see one of the dogs lookin at me funny, I looked back... (Big mistake) the dog started to run at me. Since I was big p*ssy, I decided to run with my hands up, the other 3 dogs start to chase me too. One of the dogs reach me and I feel his fangs scrape against my leg, I scream like a little girl and hide behind the tent. I hide till the dogs calm down, I slowly make my way to the house, one of the dogs sees me and starts to chase me again. I run in the house and slam the door. lol man that was so scary, that's probably why I decided to get bigger. Now dogs will leave me alone, I plan to get a pitbull and Siberian Huskie when I graduate from college.

My brother has a pitbull, it's a big softy who was abused by his previous owners and just wants to be loved

I believe that the only way to get a pitbull to unlock it's jaws is to stick your finger up its ass. Don't know who found that out...

Please, dear god, if you get a siberian husky live somewhere that's cool most of the year. I used to live in one of the hottest cities in the south, and I knew people who had siberian huskies. The dogs were miserable. It's unfair to a dog to make it live in a climate it simply isn't built for.

And only get a pit if you know enough about dogs to know how to train it well. If you're one of those people who just kind of wants a dog, but doesn't know enough about them, get a breed that's easier to handle. There are enough cool breeds of dogs that don't need as much training as a pit that are still great dogs.

Few things anger me more than people with dogs built for cold in a hot town, or people who have dogs built for lots of running (like a collie) and they keep the dog inside a small apartment all day long.

The last two posters should NOT own a pitbull. (not you TheForms...the two before you)

There are 3 ways to get a pit to let go if it doesn't want to:

1. slit it's throat
2. insert a hose with running water into it's mouth
3. a break stick you wedge into the side of it's mouth and twist to break it's grip

My ex husband owned two pits that he did NOT take care of properly. He left them out in a fenced yard and went to work. He came home and the dogs were gone and their neighbor's bull was dead. It cost him $1500 to pay for the bull and both dogs had to be put to sleep. They were NOT bad dogs and had never attacked anyone or anything before and never showed any aggression at all. However...they got into trouble because he was an idiot.

And no, sticking your finger up a pit's ass will NOT make it open it's mouth. Also, pitbulls jaws do NOT lock....they just bite differently from other dogs. Most dogs will just bite randomly, like snapping. Pitbulls go for the throat if possible, bite down and shake. Their jaws are very, very strong, but they do NOT lock.

I've had siberian huskies all my life, I have two now, and I live in Southern California.
All and all I have had 4. one did of old age about a year ago, and the other one I gave to an old friend of mine becuase i was moving

Now granted, they are house dogs, the only time they step foot outside is to **** or to go for a walk. I can leave the door open, go to sleep and when I wake up they won't be farther than the front yard. Spoiled ass brats. Shoot, earlier today I tried to take them for a walk and I opened the door and one of them gave me this "what the **** are you looking at me for, I'm not going outside" look and walked to his couch and laid down

Yeah if you are going to keep the dog outside, you don't need to be in a hot climate. When I was in arkansas, I would take them outside (can't leave them in a fence, you might as well just let them loose in the middle of the street, they will dig a hole out) in the fall/winter and they LOVED it. Even now when I take them out for an extended period of time I try to do it early in the morning or late at night

I like them because they are smart, they aren't loud they are big enough to scare most people away from your house but they are gentle enough to let your little sister play with them. They really dont' bite unless REALLY provoked. you have to piss off a husky to get him to bite you.

I've had 2 german shepards as well. I'm a dog guy always have been.

When i see dogs on the street that start grwoling at me, unless you can see something like you said, foaming at the mouth.. I will chase them, unless it's a roc or a shepard, then I know better... pretty much any other bred you can intimiate for the most part. But shepards can get so damn big. I had a 6 month old, that was bigger than ME.. now granted i was 8 at the time but sitll.. HUGE dog.

Fine, they don't 'lock' that's pretty obvious. I meant unlock in the sense of unclench. And how do you know putting your finger up its ass doesn't work? I'd at least give it a shot before slitting it's throat.

And I don't want to own a pitbull or any other dog. I like other people's pets but find the idea of having animals living in my house unhygienic. Not to mention that you're supposed to scoop their poop. Gross.

If you made a move like that to any of the pits I've had (like you were going to chase them) they would dart to the side and think you were playing with them...and they loved that sh*t. The last pit I owned was in an apartment I rented and the owner of the house lived downstairs and had a German Shepard who had an attitude and tried to scare every animal and person that came near the yard. When we introduced my dog to the owners dog it was hilarious. I had my dog on a leash and the other dog was loose. He came up to her and snapped at my pit and it was all I could do to keep her off him. He bolted away with his tail between his legs, lol. I let her leash out some (it was a long one) and the GS came back all submissive to her and they sniffed each other. Then they started playing and chasing each other around. My pit let the GS drink and eat out of her dish, so they had made friends. I also put her through obedience and socialization school, so she got along well with other dogs most of the time.

If I were in a position where I might encounter a pitbull I would be carrying a break stick with me. That's the most effective way to break a pitbull's grip.

A wooden hammer handle works well.

i've had a couple of pits before, i know the bred. one of the most misunderstood animials you will find.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
