It seems lately that most of how I go about things is when I am out on weekends. The social circle game which worked well a few years ago does not anymore. My group is aging, and the women are rather boring. Thus my preferred avenue is to meet new people.
My approach is pretty simple. Having read the game a long time ago, I have since incorporated a lot of the tricks of the trade into my own personality. Its basically natural. While I don't open with things like magic tricks, I do borrow a lot of the ways that they proposed talking to a group of people. It works well once you get it down.
As pointed out, its less of a game of 'saying the perfect thing' as opposed to just going for it.
To contrast, I have a much different approach than one of my friends. I simply approach and am able to make conversation most of the time. It can be a real conversation, or something as stupid regarding what they are wearing, I can for the most part keep it going. My friend seems to peacock and hope that women approach him. Usually doesn't happen that way. His strategy is to wait for me to talk to the women, than move in. (actually its getting tiresome being the workhorse). Since he never practices, his approaches are very limited. If I had to think of a reason why, he always thinks of the 'right thing to say', and I just go for it. Acting before you are ready is a much simpler way to do it.
Bringing another friend into the picture might be useful. The other friend is much more outgoing and friendly when he approaches people. He will go up to women and groups of people and be a social guy. If I had to look at a real life influence, it would most certainly be this guy. He has been successful with women in the past as well. There is no secret to his 'game'. He talks to anyone anytime...beach, store, in line, whenever. And its not like a nerdy rehearsed line, he actually cares what you have to say. This above all else seems to have dividends.
