It's not about finding a potential partner, it's about being disgusted with the current state of society.

Basically the religion of boomers and gen xers was socialism, lgbt, immigration, inflation and feminism.

We reach a point where you cant even say that a high mileage woman is inferior stock or that certain ethnicities are basically human weapons of mass distruction.

The catholicism that will prevail is not the soft let's hug each other one, it's the one that painted crosses on shields and dealt with problems domestically.

I went to an all boys Catholic school in the early 90s and visited a Protestant church nearby...one of the reasons was to talk to women there. Talking to women is very important when you are a developing adolescent. Porn was a problem in the early 90s with the early internet (ie would wait up to 30 min - 1 hour to download one image, and if there was an interruption with the dial-up that whole process would have to restart), by March 1993 I got tired of all that and repented and pursued God. Going to church regularly (protestant nearby) and youth groups.

What I'm saying, with me, the world has not fundamentally changed much from 1993 to now. The same background noise or motivation to want go to to church was just alive back in the day as it is today.

When I was young I tried to join to meet a girl. There were hot girls there. I went to a sermon and put my name down to join a book / church group. Maybe a week later a church lady phoned me and said "Welcome aboard! We are glad to have you. Now we are going to set you up one on one with a person to learn about the Bible and Jesus."
