"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

A girl told me recently "You look familiar, have I met you before?." The girl is from a different city far away, but goes to the same college as me.

In my opinion girls use the "You look familiar" line in attempting to make a connection with you.

Am I right?

This seems to be the case with me atleast.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Definately.

I used to take insult when girls who never met me would ask "do you remember me?" Or when they would tell me that I looked like someone they knew. But that is just their way of saying, "you looking interesting enough for me to approach you."

If some girl says that, say: "Is this how you usually pick up guys?"

Yeah, there is this new girl at work. I was talking about the last semester, that I was taking a class. Then she said that she had been in two plays at that college. That surprised me. When I asked which plays she was in, I had seen her in one of them. Then I remembered her face. I told her that I had seen it and then she said, "I thought you looked familar. I'm sure we have met before." That line sounded strange to me, for I'm pretty sure that we never met, but I did remember seeing her in the play. Funny, at the time I didn't think nothing of it.

Don't start wagging your tail when a girls comes up to you and tells you this. It IS possible she's seen you before or that you look very much like someone she knows.

Just have a reply like the one Raven125 mentioned. C&F. Even if she did mistake you for someone else, she will at least by slightly interested instead of saying: oh well.. thought you were someone else... see ya.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

True, it could mean nothing, like in my case. You just need to try to respond like Caveman said, though, I always say when in doubt you must find out!

I had this happen to me at lunch today. I was out with a few female co-workers and the someone came up to me asking if I knew her from somewhere before and she actually kino'ed me... LOL I noticed the wedding ring so politely made some small talk and thanked her for saying hello and left it at that as I'm not into the married women.

It was a nice confidence builder - I'd say it definitely was an opening line in this case.
