"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Have you ever employed the Technique of trying?

Many of us say: "Well, I tried my best."

Ok...drop the nearest utencil on the floor.

Now, tttrrryyy to pick it up. Don't pick it up, just tttrrryyy to pick it up.

You can't tttrrryyy to pick it you. Either you do or don't. Crouching to the floor, hovering over it like a fool, arms outstretched, does not accomplish anything and is, in fact, a meaningless phrase.

You either do or you don't. End of story.

We can't try to be funny. We are or we're not.

In my opinion, all of this exploration is more of getting into myself and releasing myself from the bondage of poor thinking than it is of acquiring or being anything. I already am. It's a matter of how you think that really effects each and every moment of your life.

I've been on other sites with guys who spewed forth their best C&F lines and was rather, well, LMAO. I respect his work, it's some of the best stuff, but people were using it like some Matrix program was uploaded to their cerebral cortex and then asking for a review. Is that ANYWAY to enjoy a date? Was it fun to wonder how your game went? To self analyze when all was said and done?

Enjoy life. Be fun. And the women will come. So will life. Shouldn't it all be fun? Why else are you here?

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Yoda was a man!?

You have to let the ball roll - you can't force it. But in order to get it moving in the first place you have to give it a little push.

You can't wait for life. There is nothing wrong with trying as long as your effort brings about the desired results through your actions. Effort alone is worthless. You must accomplish a goal.

Re:

"Try" must be computed into some action step.

You can't "try" meet girls without desiging a plan of action.

I can "try" to meet more women...but what does that amount to except a hill of beans?

How would I develop more confidence to go after the HB9's and 10's? What steps will I take to meet more women in general? What moves will I make to make myself more appealing to the opposite sex compared to how I was?

The same applies with any other sorts of goals. I'm "trying" to lose weight. Are you really? What are you doing to get that done? Counting calories? Working out? Cardio? Rock Climbing?

Likewise we hear the same when someone says "I tried to miss the other car."

Did you? Were you blaring the music? Yelling at the kids? Checking the GPS or DVD player? Driving to fast? Was it the sun? The glare from a car?

Portions of this originated in NLP and the other portions from a Motorcycle safety course I took. In the course, you learn we are all responsible for the rules of the road, but that doesn't mean even 1/2 of all people follow them. In an effort to minimize risk, you can merely control those risks you can control around yourself. Speed, awareness, protective gear, visibility, stability.

By controlling those elements we can control, the element of trying was eliminated.

That was my point. Good intentions do not bring about results. Effort is needed if the results are ever to come.

The difference between trying and doing is just a simple matter of application. Trying is just a place to start, it is an idea, a thought without commitment. Acting without planning or testing is foolhardy. It is best to be sure that your plan of action will actually work. Before you do it, you must try it.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, but if you want to be successful in your endeavors you must be sure that your actions will work or you will fail.
