I don't think he is doing it to be more attractive to women. He is the male version of this chick (who is married to some rich guy who is financing her plastic surgeries):

Some people are into modifying their cars. Others are into decorating their homes or gardening. And some are into modifying themselves (i.e. tattoos, piercings, etc.) What these two are doing is just an extreme version of "body art". Most likely, they have deep rooted psychological issues but hey, it's their bodies.
