"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I'm a recent college grad who just started a 9-5 type office job. I like the job alot, but it's cutting into my time to meet women. I'm at work all day, come home, eat, and hit the gym. (And don't say get a girl from the gym- I already have one :p)

I mean, weekends are great for meeting girls, but how do you guys with a "desk job" cope with picking up during the week?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Bro, I know where you're coming from. I'm on the M-F 8-5 corporate hell job as well. Damn sucks when you spend all day at work, you get home and you're tired and don't feel like doing much, plus in a few hours it's back to bed and you start all over again. Plus I currently live in a small town with pretty much NO hot women, so I only pick-up on the weekends when I go out of town.

Pick up one of you local papers that focus on the city and the whatsgoingson. They are usually free. Usually stuff in the metro area.

Itd be interesting to get out and not do the usual night clubbing. These are where your more interesting girls are.

I strongly suggest finding more worldly girls, for better convo, usually not as *****ish (dont worry they still like sex).

Chicks who regular the club usually have nothing else to do, but talk about the club.

These chicks are usually more outgoing and more oblivious to the fact that you are running a pick up game, b/c your not in a club. You are in a gathering where you obviously have similar interests.

They usually seem pleased to talk to you and tell you about a particular piece. I swear these girls are always single. Maybe they are not attracted to the downtown hippies.

COFFEE/NO-DOZ/REDBULL/ABANDON MY DAY GAME?

"I... just started a 9-5 type office job. I like the job alot, but it's cutting into my time to meet women. I'm at work all day, come home, eat, and hit the gym...how do you guys with a "desk job" cope with picking up during the week?

--Man, would I love to read a great answer to this one. I started a full time job that gets me up by 5:30 AM every morning. I am having a hard time adjusting since previously I worked a part time job for a number of months during the afternoon just prior to my new gig.

I'm having to learn and develop a nighttime game (bars not clubs which charge $20 covers and leave me with bleeding eardrums) and I feel like I'm starting all over from scratch now. I felt like I had developed great momentum during the day and then bam! I have to abandon my daytime strategies just like that! I dig the money, mind you, it's just that my mind says yes, but my body says: 'heeeey, slow down there buddy, wouldn't you rather sleep instead?' whenever I see a target I want to close.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I work a 9 to 5, I'm in school, I working on my residency and I play sports. That's why I use the Internet personals. You post a profile, check your emails during lunch and get together after work. The trick is having good qualifying skills and not believing all the detractors who haven't had success online.

I agree...I'd love to see a good answer to this question. I'm up every morning at 6am for my 8-5 at the D.A.'s office, and then I'm usually at the gym after work.

The problem I've had meeting women outside of the traditional "club/bar" type settings is that I've seen very few women who are truly giving 'approachable' signs in settings like coffee shops and stores. 95% of the 'after work' approaches I've made recently have given off the "I'm hear trying to mind my business, so F-off" vibe.

About twice a week I work from 10 til 9:30. I'm not sure if this is legal. I'm in the shop everyday until friday this week and I have parties every day too.

The answer?

Cocaine.

OR do the gym every second day. Personally I've just put together a two day routine for myself for the whole of summer. Day 1: gym fest related, Day 2: Buying food, keeping pad clean and picking up girls.

Maybe try to do something similar? Plan out a typical week and work out how you can best make time?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

i did a 9 to 5 last year for 9 months, but it wasnt 2 serious, just killing time until i went travelling, so i went out more than i did as a student, used to drink about 3/4 times a week! so met plenty of girls.

anyhow, just coming to the end of a masters degree and looking for a proper job come september, my plans for my evenings then are keep going to the gym like i do now, and maybe try and take a spanish class one night a week at a local college. Don't know if there will be many girls there, but you never know.
