Even with 90% of eggs gone, women still get pregnant a lot in their 30s. There's a great thread below about this happening. A bunch of "Last Call" babies with women in their 30s, though some needed IVF to make it happen.

30-something pregnancies are way too common for me to believe a 30 year old has lost 90% of her eggs (Yeah, I'm aware 90% doesn't mean 100%...but 90% is high enough there would be way fewer 30-something pregnancies if a woman really lost 90% of her eggs by age 30).

As much as I'd like to believe a woman my age (33, going on 34) has lost 90+% of her eggs, it just doesn't sound believable.

As one of my professors told my class in college (albeit in a different context): "If it sounds bull$hit, it probably is"

Not from my experience [even though I've came inside plenty of 30+ year olds], but from experiences given by married folks who married late. They have to try a lot before they can get a child. Meanwhile, women below 30 get pregnant way easier. It's not even funny. That's why having a woman with your kids in her 20s is considered prime.

There were some IVF pregnancies in my social circle.

One couple with a 35 year old woman got pregnant on a honeymoon when not actually trying.

Another couple from my social circle had to try for years for a natural conception and the woman had her first baby at 38.

It's super common now for Millennial women with bachelor's degrees to have their first baby after their 30th birthday.

They do if they aren't on birth control. Birth control use depends on the types of women that men meet. I have tended to meet White women with bachelor's degrees + and office jobs. Those women tend to use birth control in their 20s and early 30s.

There are more men that will commit to past their prime, damaged goods 30+ women than one would think.

Men are thirsty simps. Remember that 583 men got together to have sex with one woman in Australia. Thirsty men will do a lot for both sex and will even commit to 30s/40s women that give them sex.

30s/40s women do get more interest for sex than for sex + commitment, but there's still enough interest out there among men in sex + commitment arrangements with 30+ women.

I'm aware getting pregnant is harder as a 30-something than as a 20-something.

Still, many a baby has popped out of 30+ year old cooches, even before IVF existed.

Harder isn't the same as hard.

As an analogy, if you don't have a strong math background, it's likely you'd fail both Calculus and Pre-Cal, even though it's more likely you'd fail Calculus (if you were to only fail one class).

If I were to bareback a 32 year old and a 24 year old, it's more likely I'd impregnate the 24 year old than the 32 year old (if only one were to get pregnant)...but it's still highly likely I'd impregnate both.

I wasn't afraid of pregnancy one bit when I repeatedly barebacked a 45 year old woman (She claimed her tubes were tied. Even if she was lying, oh well, the odds of her getting pregnant at that age are minusucle). On the other hand, I wouldn't be comfortable barebacking a 30-34 year old woman. The odds of pregnancy are too high (even if lower than a 20-something's odds of pregnancy). Hell, I even turned down protected sex with a 38 year old after a first date once because of the pregnancy risk.

You encounter this stuff both online and offline

If you ask me me my opinion I think most guys have chance to succeed even with "good looking" girls. I don't believe it is hopeless for most men but I hae encountered some of these guys before in my personal life that say they can't get girls, girls don't like them, they've tried everything etc. They look okay for most part, maybe can change small things, nothing too major....then you ask deeper questions and you find out it's not that girls don't like them or don't pay attention, but *certain* types. I'm just going to say it these guys only want like a Priscilla Ricart or Rachael Pizzolato...yeah of course you will haev a difficult, miserable time if this type is your requirement. Small number of women look like this and they happen to run in packs - unless involved in that world it's unlikely you'll even come across one.

If a 42 year old man wants kids, I agree that he's going to look younger.

Although women lose 90% of their eggs by age 30, the remaining 10% of those eggs are quite viable. There are so many women in their 30s who get pregnant.

Many 42 year old men can't get that much younger. A 42 year old man who wants his own biological kids isn't going to start a relationship from scratch with a 38 year old. There's insufficient time there. He might be willing to choose her if they agree on adoption. If a 42 year old man wants biological children, he's going to be looking to start a relationship with a woman at least 10 years younger.

40-44 year old men with children from previous relationships aren't very enthusiastic about having more children. A lot of 40-44 year old men who are childless wish to remain childless.

I have seen scenarios with late 30s/early 40s childless men legally committing to late 30s/early 40s childless women. These couples generally don't want kids.

I don't know. I think many older men continue with scarcity mentality later into life and want sex with women. They think that a relationship with a similarly aged woman is the way to do it.

In these types of relationships, the adult children of both older partners tolerate each other. That's a best case scenario. There are a lot of forced "family" get togethers with adult children of senior citizens who didn't grow up with each other. Some adult children might have their own children under 18 while other adult children are childless. The childless adult children are forced to put up with random children from someone who isn't a sibling or even a cousin at family gathering. That really stinks for the childless adult children in that situation.

This is all because some older adults want companionship and some sex.

This scenario isn't talked about much on this board. Plenty of Boomer and older Gen X divorcees are currently putting their adult children through this nonsense.
