do women have preferential treatment in getting a job than men?

I notice that companies hiring alot more women than men. I often see men attending job fairs. Men have hard time finding jobs.

Sometimes. Depends on the job I think.

Trade or computer jobs I doubt it.

Nursing or office jobs I bet they do.

And sales could go either way.

I agree, a lot of discrimination out there against men these days.
It's like, men see other men as threats and women as potential dates
women see men as threats and other women as potential friends
so its much easier, no matter who is doing the hiring, for a woman to get a job.
I have been openly discriminated against in group interview situations where I was the only male present.

You can get around this by being so charming to women interviewers that they are attracted to you and will feel like hiring you, and by being so jovial and non-threatening to male interviewers that they won't see you as a threat (although they'll still probably hire a chick if they can get away with it).

Better yet, start your own business and make your own luck. As DJ, there isn't any support network to fall back on. Its hard and rough, so suck it up and fight.
