I wish I had read this damn thread BEFORE asking out the girl who sits NEXT to me at work, lol. She said yes (and seemed really keen) but the date was a disaster (she was incredibly dull and I drunk myself stupid as a result). Now there's this horrible awkwardness at work. Actually she's not talking to me at all. To make matters worse she looks hotter every day it seems. It's really not a good situation.

No criticism needed. I already know how stupid this was. First time I asked out a girl at work. You live and learn.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Dude I work around all of these little cuties and have to restrain myself for the very same reasons!

It will blow into the past just super focus on what you need to be doing and pretend nothing happened! It is what it is!

The red head I have a crush I on I honestly simply have to ignore. It sucks but what else is there.

Thanks man. You're right. The thing is it was bearable BEFORE I asked her out. I could kind of enjoy flirtatious banter with this girl and that was it. But I felt like I was missing out by not asking her out. Anyway now she has gone from being the cute and nice girl that sits next to me to the hot total bi*ch that sits next to me, lol. All because I took her on a date and showed my interest. Now she won't even say good morning. I mean what the f**k right?

So anyway, I think you did the right thing by making this thread and avoiding the very mistake I went ahead and made. I know I'm being over sensitive but it has really made me not want to even go into work.
