"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

So you've got the number and you call her. You're on the phone and via the 'getting to know process' she elaborates on past men. This is not a red flag. Often times she will talk frankly on what they did wrong. In my case: I was told that her previous 'date' had tried to swoon her with gifts that lacked any creativity. I read this as she doesn't necessarily dislike gifts but she wants them to be admiring of her personal qualities not as an attempt at buying her love. So before you buy a girl roses use your brains instead of your heart and buy her something more meaningfull. Also it doesn't have to be expensive and the more it is a token of your own personal expression the better.

This is important to note because often the posts on these boards focus on the extremes like "never buy a girl a gift before the 20th date." If a good girl is interested in you (not a gold digger) then anything that is an expression of the qualities she likes about you will be as seen as a valuable gift.

This has been probably discussed but I wanted to open it for anyone else to add things.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I think instead of buying her "gifts" why not just pay for a good time? Pay for a day snowboarding, take photos, give her some copies of you together, and joke about the day. This creates a feeling of attachment, and also lets you get something out of it. Instead of just, "Buy her a gift, hope she likes it....."

Women appreciate actions, and thoughts behind them, than a simple, "Ill buy a gift, and she'll love me" ORIGINALITY!
