I actually agreed with you initially. I think it comes down to Vet a good woman. Acquire at youth, before top form SMV, no LTR ambiguity, and adds nothing but value.
Example, there is this bloke, Connor McGoat from Ireland. Fella was on social assistance at one point. His girl never got the ring but, she stood by him or so the story goes. I suspect he has a pass to hookup with other babes but, she got a child meaning, she is set for life. Hopefully, she doesn't **** off. If she did not when he was poor, he likely picked a good one.
