Why don't you have a girlfriend?

I usually answer this one honestly, but don't divulge too much.

Lately when I get asked this I just respond, "I just got out of a relationship." Because I just did. Also, I just moved (hence why i broke up with the girl) so a new girlfriend is the last thing on my mind right now.

Once I move past this "new to town, getting my life together" mess, if I'm still single I'll probably just say, "I haven't met anyone that really does it for me lately."

A funnier response:

HER: why don't you have a girlfriend?
ME: Oh, no thanks. You're not my type.
HER: I didn't mean ME.
ME: Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

There is nothing wrong with having just one girlfriend...
It is getting obsessed with one specific girl that is the problem...
Oneitus... It pushes you into an AFC mind set...
If you date multiple women then you will be the happiest... period...
