I have friends that are chill and cool to be around, but turn in to hunger games survival mode when around females.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

In my experiences, it's nerds/geeks, people who have not grown up around women much, or people who listen too much to society and still believe in archaic gender relations who act like this.
I'd think most modern guys (say who've grown up since the late 90s or so) don't think women cannot be related to normally.

I see this a lot. It's really, really pathetic how men try and act tough in front of girls to try and impress them. I see it as they are insecure and simply don't feel comfortable being their true self in front of them.
The funny thing is though, is that what ever girl they get (if they do) it will only be a matter of time before she works out how much of a looser he actually is and dumps him :crackup: . Then you get to see the even better side to him

A lot of guys are so visually-driven that the moment they SEE a woman who attracts them physically, they freeze like deer caught in the headlights (so to speak...lol). Then, because the flow of their blood has temporarily started moving to their smaller head---it takes awhile before they can get it reversed and flowing back up to their big head.
One of the best ways to prevent or reduce this effect is for guys to find ways to SURROUND themselves with as many attractive women as possible---and as often as possible.
