"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

The first thing you notice when you start reading posts on this site or many dating sites is that you are told not be a nice guy, be a real man, be kind of mean and indifferent, be mysterious.
I started to wonder why being nice to women really seems not to work for most men, but being a little edgy works wonders. I also noticed that I would sometimes see really beautiful women with really nice guys with no money, or any social status. I wait tables, so trust me I see a lot of couples every day.
Why does being nice work for a few people and not for others?
I started to pay more attention to the interractions that took place in the restaurant where I work. There is a guy that started working with me that's absolutely the nicest man I have ever met. He is not one you would call good looking either. I thought that the girls at work and the females customers will probably not like that man because he was just too sweet to be a man. What a big surprise when 2 weeks later I surprised a bunch of girls talking about nice the man was and that they would do him in a heartbeat. This was intriguing, I thought female talk, until he actually starting banging a few of the girls we work with. And I on the other hand who was trying to be edgy was just ignored. Many female customers left their numbers for that man.
This goes against everything I learned on sosuave.
I also starting noticing something really interesting about another guy that I work with. I noticed that he, unlike the first one that was just nice to everybody, was nice to the pretty girls and mean to everybody else. Guess what? the girls at work cannot stand him, not that the pretty ones dont take advantage of his niceness by making him do all kind of things for them, but he never gets a date.
It came to my mind that the difference between those two was that one just truly a nice person, he was not putting on an act because he thought that would get him some action. The other one on the other hand is just pretending to be something he is not and the girls see through it.
I figured, the reason being nice does not work is that most men are not genuinely nice, they just act nice because they want some action and it repels the women.
That's why I now think that being yourself is really not a problem as long there is consistency and that you are real. I now think that what attracts women more than anything is being your true self whether it's a nice, mean, rude, careless person.
As an example, just look at the men J-lo dated and got married to. Her first husband was a waiter whom I dont know much about, the next person she dated was Diddy, a rapper, and then came her backup dancer who is kind of gay, after him came Ben Afflec who is a some preppy white boy and now she is with Marc Anthony who is some latin singer. All these people have really different personalities, but there is one thing they have in common: they are all real and true to themselves.
Will that work for me?
I have not tried anything on any girl yet because I am just trying to see if I was right. As waiter, I started to pay attention to how people tipped me. At first, I thought that being nice to my customers would get me better tips, so I was nice and my tips were not good, I noticed that the nicer I was, the worst my tips were. I decided to shift it around, I dont really like smiling for some reason, so I stopped smiling to my guests, I stopped being nice and just went with the way I felt which is I tend not to care very much about things. I am actually slightly mean to all my guests, and my tips have never been better. Most people tip me way over 20 per cent. Not only do they tip me better, they seem to like me more.
Arent we just all attracted to people we think are real?
Being nice or mean, or edgy or in between will not get you anywhere if that's just not the real you. If along the way you can change yourself and become what you think attract women it will probably work because you become another person with consistency.
I figured that's all sosuave is doing, it's making me myself(the real mean bastard) by telling me not to be myself (the emotionally F**ked nice guy).

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

exactly, being yourself requires confidence and being comfortable with urself. Girl told me on my last date that i seemed nervous and uncomfy and it made her a lil uncomfy. Really made me think.

people need to be able to classify u some how. so ur right, if ur not consistent and urself all the time and u bend and change easily, People wont be drawn to u or respect u, or ever really wanna know u. Im learnin that. i prob was way to agreeable with that girl and was worrin bout her liking me so i didnt act like myself and came across nervous. Girls cant resist an uncompromising man right? I heard that once.

But we gotta remember alot of girls will not like us. Alot will. I think the prob i have is take the girls that dont like me as meaning - "oh my personality sux, i gotta act different" So what happens to me is i keep constantly changing and i havent developed a strong personality of my own. I'm gonna try bein me or just bein 1 thing and see what happens.

The nice guy was probably confident. That's why he was banging chicks. He may not be good looking, but he is probably the kind of guy that is really nice and smiles a lot and just randomly comes up to you and starts a conversation. (Is that last line ringing a few bells yet?) He is not only NOT fake, he is good at conversation, and has developed a good social standing with his peers. That's probably why he is so successful.

This kind of game/guys can pick you up some pretty decent chicks. But I still think of the REALLY hott and shallow/attention whoring girls must of the guys on this site like.. it's all about being an *******.

The guy in your example is genuine, so in turn he will probably find someone genuine.

You have to remember that the Nice Guy vs Jerk scenario was created by society. What matters is what underlies those characteristics. The nice guy society speaks of is the one who has no self-respect and is desperate for love. The jerk is the ****y, funny guy who teases women, and gets laid because of it.

People (especially women) will react more positively to guys who have confidence and self-respect, no matter how badly or how well they treat others.

This other example is a real good case of that. At the last presidential election, the American people reelected Bush who everybody knows is not as smart, well educated, well behaved than Kerry. There is actually nothing I can think of that Bush can do better than Kerry. The question is why would a country of well educated people decide to reelect someone as Bush instead of Kerry? Bush might not be smart but Bush is consistent and sticks to what he believes in no matter what. Kerry on the other hand was trying too hard to shift his views towards what he thought might get him elected. That's the price you pay for not being real.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Good post. Women can spot fake, and don't believe it's their job to reward 'niceness' with sex.

Like men don't think 'hey that ugly fat chick is really committed to saving the rainforest, I must bang her as soon as possible.'

Amen to that brother. It's simply a question of strong vs. weak rather than bad vs. nice.

You give women far too much credit.

"They can sniff you out" and all that crap. No they can't. Women are barely functional. They go out with dumbasses for months and years and whine about it constantly. If they're so good at sniffin sh1t out why does it take them 6 months to figure out they're dating an assh0le?

“The 22 Rules That Turned Me From Invisible to Irresistible With Women… Starting Tonight”

You can skip the expensive cars, the fancy clothes, and the endless gym selfies. Completely unnecessary.

I used to freeze the second a beautiful woman looked my way. Frustrated. Awkward. Watching other guys walk away with the girl while I stood there tongue-tied.

Then I discovered 22 simple rules that rewired my entire dating life. The anxiety vanished. Conversations flowed effortlessly. Women started chasing me for a change.

These rules trigger a woman's subconscious attraction switches. And you can start using them tonight.

LOL, good one. After all, we are talking about a nation where 25% of high school graduates couldn't find their own country on a world map unless the name was on it.

I should also note that I am Canadian... and before you think I'm insulting the U.S., remember that we ALSO just elected a moron. So I can't even use that one anymore... :(

That said, I really like the original post. Confidence has something to do with it... if being nice is something you're intrinsically good at, girls will sense it. I work with a guy who's really a tool... pretty dumb, dirty and not really interested in anything at all. But he's incredibly nice to EVERYONE, and he's genuine about it. Girls are always throwing themselves at him.

Drives me nuts.

They KNOW they're dating a jerk. They just figure it's their mission to fix him.

Girls are way ahead of most of us... WAY ahead.
