I'm afraid to approach even when I know I will succeed.
Laterz...
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
I don't know. You guys are the ones with all the made up answers.Originally posted by mrRuckus

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
Yes... but its all part of "thhe game" ... you WILL get rejected, you WILL be laughed at at SOME point in your dj'ing life (unless you are a VERY attractive guy that no woman would ever say "no" to) .. and yes, its a risc that we need to take, because the fact is, is that we DONT KNOW how ANY girl will react when we approach her, dance with her, flirt with her, etc etc...Originally posted by tobby
I agree that most men are afraid to approach because of the fear of rejection, but let's be honest (BAD SH*T HAPPENS!). Sometimes you do end up looking like an idiot in front of your friends, family, etc, or you have to see the girl that rejected you again sometimes. I know some people will then say that "you're not supposed to care about these things", but let's be honest here. I know plenty of guys that have heard the girls laugh at you because women talk or seen a female friend talk about the guyl who tried to approach her.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Personally, I have never once succeeded off an approach. I keep doing them, I keep trying, but my fear of failure never diminishes because I have no success to hang my hat on. At this point, I'm just numb to the rejection and keep doing it because it gives my friends amusing things to talk about, but I can EASILY see how someone in my position (never had a single bit of positive feedback) would eventually become paralyzed with fear.

... And for those of you that would still pass by the opportunity, well, I guess your hand will have to be working overtime ey?![]()
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
While this is absolutely the mind set you must have to be successful, this is the most oft-repeated fallacy on this message board.Originally posted by pimpfromdayone
Girls want to be approached, so do them a favor and do it.
No offence to you, but thats BULLSH!T!!Originally posted by Cheat_LBJ

This is *extremely* setting dependant. If you go to a club, yeah there are probably a greater percentage of girls who "wouldn't mind" being approached. I'd say under most favorable circumstances, maybe 35-40% of the women in clubs would like being approached. The other 60-ish% aren't looking for anything other than a good time with their friends. However, that number slips down lower and lower to the point where at, say, a 7-11 the percentage of women who "wouldn't mind" being approached drops, since the vast majority are in a 7-11 to do something quickly, like buy a soda and get out.
