I have a few thoughts on this, and its directly related to a few things that are wreaking havoc on men's hormonal levels.
My thoughts on why women are attracted to this is because this is what they are getting used to seeing from "men" who have excessive estrogen levels in their body and lack testosterone. Its almost an adaptation to these type of men because they have no choice as testosterone levels continue to plummet with each passing generation(already been shown that we have up to 30% less testosterone on average than our fathers).
Reasons are several fold:
1) Prevelance of xenoestrogens from plastics, pesticides, shampoos, soaps, etc. Xenoestrogens are everywhere these days, which is very bad, as they strongly bind to estrogen receptors in the body and are much harder to get rid of than either regular estrogens or phytoestrogens. In fact, they are so bad, that many men would do well to supplement with Soy Isoflavones to artificially introduce phytoestrogens into their body to block the receptor sites from being able to pick up the xenoestrogens. Phytoestrogens have a very weak bond and are much easier to rid from the body than xenoestrogens which stay in for long periods of time and wreak havoc on our hormonal balance, leading to estrogen dominance in some cases.
2) Excessive copper---its in water(copper pipes), food(copper cookware) and various vitamins and vegetables. Women are supposed to be copper based, men are supposed to be zinc based. Zinc and copper are antagonists meaning when zinc levels rise, copper levels fall inside the body and vice versa. With high copper levels, zinc levels go down leading to less testosterone and more estrogen. Zinc controls 3% of our gene expressions and researchers have found "Zinc Fingers" on DNA strands. These "Zinc Fingers" wrap around certain sections of the DNA and activate certain genes, like switching on the power. Without zinc, these genes cannot be activated. Considering zinc's importance in many hormonal, enzyme and muscular functions of the body, not having enough of it is probably the single worst thing a male working out could do to themselves.
3) Heavy metals blocking zinc receptors in the body---the body actually prefers denser, heavier metals like mercury which sit in the zinc receptor and block it from attaching, while not activating the receptor itself---kinda like a square peg in a round hole. No matter how much zinc you are taking in, the body cannot utilize it if these receptors are blocked.
So this is my theory on why women seem to be more attracted to these type of guys....they simply don't have much of a choice.
