The film is depicting a different age to the one we live in now.
Because of our(men's) treatment of women back then it led successive generations empowering women to the point where we've create a system that's detrimental to men as a whole.

I agree with some here, I would first confirm the exact truth of what happened and if it really does justify to use my strength towards defending a woman.. Before it would be possibly true what she said,, nowadays,, who knows if she was trying to manipulate the whole situation..
