So I'm currently looking on thinning down on fat before I even think of bulking up, will cardio exercises be a great way to start on this, and if so, what is the most efficient at burning the fat away?

Training for strength isnt necessarily going to help you loose fat. I wouldnt recommend a bodybuilding program for strength training now would I?

So, Yes, do cardio, eat cleaner/healthier foods, eat smaller portions or take the fork out of your mouth! Research some weight loss programs as well..

Lifting heavy burns more calories than cardio. But I don't advocate lifting for weight loss, I advocate lifting whilst cutting to preserve strength and muscle mass. Hence why I told him to lift
