Where and/or How did your Parents meet?

My dad's friend since gradeschool became friends with my mom in college and introduced them when they were 20-21. They got married at 23 I think.

I don't know the whole story. I just know that my mom turned down my dad consistently before finally giving him a chance because "he had a good heart." I guess nice guys don't always finish last but those were different times.

lol I'm not really concerned about that nor do I really want to know. All I know is that I'm glad they had me. Without me, all the good looking girls of the world would be missing out on something.

But, my parents met after the Vietnam War. They came to Canada, met up during HS and married after a couple years.

My parents met at a meditation group held by my grandmother.
They sat next to each other and "felt" a connection. This was during the late
1960's. A couple of years later they were married. Another year passed and
then they got divorced.

My Mom and Dad met in a shoe factory he approached her.

From what I gather Mom gave dad the cold shoulder but she found him handsome with his jet black hair, brown eyes and naturally tanned skin she told me she actually felt insecure by his handsome good looks and felt he was a player.

As time passed my dad warmed my Mom by his personality and he had a yellow Ford rag top that got attention. My Mom a short blonde green eyed beauty and dad married on a Friday May 13th 1949 they've been together 59 years they had 3 sons and I am the youngest.

Mine met at work, no idea details, I really should find out.

My mum was the barby doll and my dad a hairy, four eyed football star. Lucky for him for the last part or with his soft, quiet persona, he wouldn't have stood a chance!

It is interesting where people met and if you notice, it's barely EVER through cold approaches. Always through a friend, common interest, school or work.

My brother met his wife in high school, been together 15 years now, I met my long-term girlfriend at University a few years back now.

My parents met in high school. My dad was a senior and my mom was a freshman or sophmore. They dated for 4 years. Sometime after my mom graduated and my dad has been working they got married. My dad is 55 now and my mom is 51. Been married ever since... So, like 30 some years of marriage.

Okay, so they actually met through mutual friends and hit it off.

Of the married people I am close friends with...

My parents met at a religious event.
My oldest brother met his wife being set-up by a mutual friend.
Other brother met his wife through a school-specific dating website (run by the university they attended)
My college roommate met her husband on the rebound at a frat party in college...that's a rarity.
Roommate's sister married rebound guy's best friend [double wedding style, how cool is that]
My closest friend in a LTR met his girl through a mutual friend.

Through friends is definitely the easiest way to go, because it's already established social proof. On your own you have to prove it or hope she's desperate enough not to care.

My parents met through a blind date. They went out and my mom hated my dad. They didn't see each other for a bit.

Then mom went out on another date with some ******* that tried to molest/rape her at the drive-in movie theater. My dad happened to be walking by and heard her screaming. He reached in, pulled him outside the car, kicked the **** out of him, and then my mom never left my dad's side ever since.

They now had four kids, but one died.
