I'll give 2 examples:
1. Girl tells me she's a bad singer. I know she wants to work with children when she finishes her education, so I say: "You wanna work with children but you can't sing? That's bad..." Her: "What? Just because I can't sing, I can't be good with children?" Me: "Nope, you study for a job where you work with children but you can't sing = FAIL" Of course, I said it all in a joking manner but she responded kinda b*tchy. I think because up till that point I had always been very nice and was always giving her positive attention, she was surprised by my neg. So she says: "Well, that's too bad then.." (sounded a bit like she meant "Well, **** you then..)"turns around to her computer and ignores me like she wants to communicate "ÿou're not being nice to me, therefor I'll ignore you". WTF? I sat there for one minute, none of us said anything, so I just got up and left the room. Later on, when she went home, she said goodbye without looking me in the face, normally she always looks in my face. So...... On one hand, I feel I did the right thing. I have been too nice to her until now, I needed to neg her a bit. She doesn't like it and "punishes" me by ignoring me and acting b*tchy but I won't let her manipulate me with that. On the other hand: maybe I should've made a joke right after the neg so that she wouldn't have a chance to react b*tchy? Or would that have been weak because I would've immediately neutralized the neg?
2. In the club with my best friend. Two girls standing next to us, they walk away after a while. It was very crowded and little space to stand so we took their spots. After one minute or so, they come back again and have no space to stand. I planned to be nice and give them space but tried to be a bit ****y and sort of neg them first. So I look at one of them, smile and say in a joking manner: "Yep, that's what you get when you leave your spot!" She gets this annoyed look on her face, makes the "tssssk"sound and turns her face away from me. WTF? I forgot about her right away after that response and kept standing there without giving her space. Buh-bye, b*tch! Now on the one hand I think it's good that I don't supplicate towards her, on the other hand I think I could've tried to follow it up with a joke so she doesn't ahve the chance to respond so b*tchy.
In other words: should you always follow up with a joke when you neg a girl to prevent this b*tchy response? Or is it weak to do that because by making a joke immediately afterwards, you show that you're afraid of her reaction?
