"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I am 28 and there is some hottie at work who is only 19. I get some good vibes from her...but I would feel like a perv going after a girl 9 years my junior. Any comments?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I think once she is over 18 she is mature enough to understand the game and thus she herself becomes fair game, then again I am only 20 so I have no idea how people deal with larger disparity in age.

If you really think about it girls as young as 14 or 15 - though not still mature emotionally - already know all about playing guys, being hors, how to use men, and most of them probably know their way around a guy's body.

The biggest guilt about guys going for younger girls is that they feel more mature or wiser than the girl and therefore feel like they'd be taking advantage of her, as if she was too stupid or not mature enough to understand whats going on.

At the age of 18+ I think that is a non-issue. By that age any girl who is worth a second glance has already probably dated, most likely lost her virginity, and has dealt with numerous dramas involving guys. So the whole maturity/being new at this source of guilt should dissipate. You know what you're doing and trust me, so does she!

you got nothing to lose. my g/f's roomate was 18 and she went out with a 30 year old. my g/f thought it was freaky, but obviously her roomate did not. some girls are into that stuff. maybe she is into older guys and u can have some fun with her.

I'm in the same situation, 28 and getting a lot of interest from a 19 year old friend. I like her a lot and my friends think she has a thing for me.

We are flirty and tactile, but because of the age difference I'm hesitant about making a move unless I'm certain it will be reciprocated.

She has commented she doesn't notice the age difference, hinted that she likes mature men and when hearing about hassles from my ex she commented "she sounds immature" and "I'd never do anything like that". Various people have also commented what a great couple we would make. So in her eyes and other people's eyes the age isn't an issue.

I think our concerns may just be in our own heads, but I'd also like to hear more opinions.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I heard "if there is grass on the field, play ball" but I guess its the same idea. Though keep in mind that if you are in a position to see if there is grass or not, you've already gone too far.

And what about chicks in their 20s that shave? Are they off limits? :D

Mahon-

You cannot set an "age limit". You have to deal with each individual situation as it comes your way. Someone made a comment, that if your 19 you know the game. This is false because it is generalizing age into knowledge. Most 19yr olds, male or female, think they know everything let alone the "game." IF this girl is mature and you really think theres something there then go for it. But now let me ask you the real question: is this girl the only "prospect" that you have? If so, I suggest that you put more emphasis to consider your situation than this girl.

I'm 32 and I had a date with a really cute 18 year old and we went had a great rapport and are going out again this weekend, I'm just playing things by ear and seeing what happens you know...

I can tell you that there was a lot of flirting on her behalf and a lot of touching and playing around too...so I don't know she also told me that she already feels like she knows me as we had chatted via private messages and chats and phone before we met in person.

:cheer:

is this girl the only "prospect" that you have?
I'm so sick of people always advising to go see other people when they are perfectly happy pursuing someone they actually like. It seems to be the universal answer on these forums 95% of the time "next her, find someone else!"

The amount of prospects isnt an issue. If I like girl A I am going to go for girl A, and if there is a few problems along the way I'll deal with them. If you always quit as soon as there is any hiccup in your plans than I assume you'll always remain single because no one is perfect and no relationship is perfect.

Maybe this is why we keep getting "field reports" from the same people over and over. You'd think if they were actually good they would've found someone they like by now.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Go for whatever you want in life.

**** it won't land you in jail.

From a biological perspective, once a girl can reproduce she can reproduce.

But 14 year old girls are way too immature now. And their parents will kill you and you'll end up in jail.

19 year old girls are mostly immature too.

But why Mahon do you feel like a perv? Because you are worried what others think.

First off remember this phrase "I am Mahon, if there is something I want I go for it. I don't need anybodies permission to go for what I want, I don't need their approval or validation"

We coddle the youth of this country way too much. That's why we grow up to be pussies with problems.

I'll fully admit I was spoiled. I suffer from some of the consequences to this day. In the form of being unsure of myself at times.

My parents are great. I love em. They made things easy on me though. I am a wimp by default now. It has taken work, alot of work the past few years to get past that.

god damn rednecks....

anyway, the definitive rule is half your age plus seven is the youngest you can go. so half 28 plus 7 is 21. If you feel like going after her, do so. But the ruling is against you.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Down South. Between the Y junction.
Girls who are 19 to 21 are usually at their peak in terms of body development... theres all that nice baby fat and very little cellulose...

They aren't lacking in sexual experience these days..

I wouldnt consider myself a perv for going after young chick... in the golden days, men of distinction often married women in their 19s or 20s... some even younger...

Read my whole damn statment. Did i say next her? NO.

But if a 28 yr old guy's only option is a 19yr old girl that takes interest in him he should probably be thinking about that.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
