I notice that people on this site claim women who they have not slept with as their girlfreinds, bringing up questions on how to solve problems to relationships that I personally dont think exist.
Have guys noticed the divide on here about what a relationship consists of is it a woman who has been laid or a woman who has been moochin of you for the past number of months and lets you call her girlfreind infront of YOUR freinds.

My contention is if you have not had that intimacy that comes with sex, that power transfer that comes will all those notions, you should not ask us how to patch a non-existent relationship.

I think you've been living in porno-land a bit too long.

LoL. Ha.

Relationship starts after you've laid her and she's asked you to be exclusive and you've agreed.

I had sex with my ex-girlfriend on the first date(btw that really tells you a lot about a person) ...I never really thought of it as a relationship; let her make up her mind when the relationship begins. Just act like a relationship is the last thing on your mind and she'll be on her knees begging you to be with her!

Sex really has no direct relationship to the state of things between you two, emotionally-speaking. The first girl I loved was in a serious relationship with me for well over a year before we had sex. We had sex after the relationship was actually shot to **** and we were about to break up. Another girl slept with me months before we became exclusive because she really liked me. So on, so forth.

Its not that the lay controls whether or not a relationship has started. It shifts the power massively though. Upto the point where you've had sex, the woman holds the cards. After that point, she's lost everything she could have possibly given you. Keep in mind, this doesnt hold true for girls who put out easily. I have no freaking clue what they think they have to offer after that point, especially if they aren't gifted with great personalities.
But for your standard girl who holds off on the sex for a while, theres a bit of a trust issue coming into place. With this kind of girl, once you reach the sex phase, she's told you that she trusts you, etc, thus solidifying the relationship.

Another version is that she really wants something with you, so she'll give you what you want in the hope that things solidify into a relationship.

Or you're just freaking good with foreplay, so she cant hold back.

sex has no connection to love for males.

so for you it means nothing.

for her she gets something out of it.

if you want an LTR I would wait till you love her or are close to it.
