I had this feeling of that's it! Then what now? As you driving from there you can feel the freedom and it scares you a little.
But, ending high school is just the begging. Then you gonna go to college, then work. Then you find out that work is slavary and you need to work for yourself. And so you conclude that freedom was just an illusion.
But that "that's it!" feeling will be one of a kind. You won't have that same feeling in college.

In australia we dont get car license until we are 18 and we can start drinking and going out at 18 legally, this all coincided with the graduating of highschool.
I grew my hair long and bummed around everyday in the sun for 4 months before uni started.
All that resulted in a feeling of greater freedom, although I was jobless and mooched heavily off the parents and grandparents.
I thought I was a massive raver at the time, its all about the plur man, what a tosser.

DO NOT FALL FOR THE CREDIT CARD, LOAN, AND PERSONAL LOAN OFFERS THAT BANKS ARE GOING TO OFFER YOU. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. I cannot stress that enough. Ten minutes to max out a credit card, ten years to pay it off.itishe said:
If you are going to college then explore all of your financial aid options in detail. It is only now that I have finally understood the financial **** I got myself into years ago at uni. If you spend at least 3 days just reading up on loans, grants, scholarships and how they work you will be more knowledgeable

You are your own person after HS. Who you were associated with and what you did in HS will not matter. The world and the people in it do not care.
There are a lot of naysayers, unhappy, and self-destructive people in this world. Learn to separate yourself from them early on.
And last but not least, women aren't the only reason to live. I'm so sick of seeing friends having their lives turned upside down because of women. Remember Daniel-san, money over *****es!
Anyways, graduating is a new beginning that shouldn't be taken too lightly. The sky is the limit. I know that is so cliche, but it's true.

I had the same feeling as Booblepook and agree with his assessment that its just the beginning of the next phase.
However
You can still have a blast at college, you don't need all the credit cards.
However
I agree with that and can't stress it enough. I lived the high life in college because of credit cards, loans etc... Its not worth the years of agony that follow. Now I live without credit and if I want something expensive, I either save up for it or I get a big fat contract so I can buy it cash.fresh_to_death said:

It's all perspective. Right now college kids seem like adults to you. Then after you get a four-year degree, if you go on to grad school, those same undergrad college kids seem like just kids. Later in life, anyone in college, grad or undergrad, seems like a kid. In your late teens and early 20's "adult" always seems to be defined as just a little older than you are now, while "kids" are the ones who are younger than you.
I initially got the "that's it?!" feeling upon graduating from high school with my diploma. Even though I go to community college and still have to live at home, I do enjoy the college environment much more. You'll find there's a lot more REAL stuff to learn about after graduating and striving for independence. I'm just eager as hell to transfer now.

Personally I had a great feeling of achievement, like I've learned so much and could go out into the world prepared. If you get that, and plan to go to higher education, enjoy that feeling in your summer off.
When you arrive in university, you'll get a serious attitude adjustment and realize how little you know. (Or at least you will if you're going to a good college).
