What's in a name and how did you end up here?

Hi, when I read through the posts here on sosuave. I see all sorts of interesting names and often wonder what they mean. So, I'ill like to use this thread to share the meanings behind our names and what brought us to Sosuave discussion forum. Talk about your signature quotes too.

5string....because I play banjo. How did I get here.....researching medical issues. Signature.....it's from the movie Full Metal Jacket. It seemed appropriate in that so many guys on here ignore the advice and information they are given, and do just the opposite (I am guilt to a degree).

Mine is J.A.F.Y.K. it's an abbreviation for Just Another Face You Know.I know it's ironic considering most of us here haven't seen each other's faces. Anyway, I came up with the name because I think it fits considering most of us here are strangers to each other and would probably walk past each other in the real world and not even know we've been in the same forum and commented on each other's posts.
I came across sosuave when my kid brother suggested it to me. I don't know what he was doing on Sosuave at the time but I'd like to say that him pointing me to this site is one of the best things he'd done for me. I had generally been confused about women (I won't claim to have them all figured out nor do I think I really want if it's even totally possible) and dating. I started reading the articles on the main Sosuave site and when you read articles you often have questions. I would've been here longer if I knew what the discussion forum was all about earlier on my time on SS. So, i discover that you can actually come here , read people's posts, ask your own questions, get answers and respond to other people's comments as well, which is really cool. My dating life or life in general is not where I'd like it to be but I know I've made a lot progress and know a lot more than I did. Still there are conflicting informations but then I realize it's up to each of us to decide what works in general and what works for us as individuals. I want to thank those who have responded to my posts in the past as well as the ones who have made the biggest impression on me especially ROLLO. Anyway, this is my story. I'd like to read yours.

I was on Player Supreme's forum, he used to call SS the funny pages because of how lame the posts are and the lack of understanding of real game. So I'd come here to check out the lames and laugh at them. I posted a few replies and actually helped a few people. Which was pretty cool. I figured it was better to help people than to laugh at their misfortune.

ironically this night at this point i actually was well out the oneitis stage and we were sexing quite reguarlly, and at this point i was really all that interested in dating her. we were going out later that night and she wanted me to chose what i wanted her to wear out.

So far so good guys but can we step it up a lil bit. Give us actual stories (perhaps quarter of a page worth) That helps us to get to know one another and know where you are coming from. Anyone can easily say " a girl brought me here" Well, duh!

My name is pretty simple. my first name and "juan". I changed it to Daven Tenorio on other forums I use to frequent, which essentially means the same thing, but sounds better.

I found this site back in 2003. Was recently out of a LTR, yet still sleeping together, and trying to juggle the club scene. Couldnt figure out why the "nice guy" thing wasnt getting me anywhere.

I first tried the name Captain because i wanted to have a tough badass sounding name to mark myself as a changing man, but that was taken so i settled for CaptainJ because of jack sparrow lol.

I don't understand people who give themselves sh1tty self deprecating names, as you are just reminding yourself of how sh1t you are, whereas a name like warrior fires the blood and gets you motivated.

Thanks for the reminder. That's a movie I've been wanting to rent and watch but everytime I go to rent a movie I end up forgetting and renting something else.

I know what you mean. When I first came across this site too. I was just taken I'd read stuff, print it take it home and read some more. Is there a Sosuave anonymous? lol. Oh, this is it, isn't it? lol
