I'd use a place called "city data forums", among others, to connect with people in your area.I'd go to meets of people who are "into "any sort of hobby that interests you and look around. I'd run a classified ad on craigslist and I'd check out any ads any there that interested me. I'd go hang out at the college libraries, but also improve myself, gym, karate classes, dancing lessons, learn to play music, swim, surf, skateboard, off-road motorcycling. Race tracks are good places to meet women, maybe not YOUR kind of women, tho. Ball games, too

Have a life. Do stuff you are interested in and connect with other people who are interested in it. Shortcut: find a Texas hold'em league, dance class, yoga class or quiz night at your local bar, and take it from there.
