Its always good ideal to use condom together with birth control pills or some othee back up contraceptic to prevent these problems. Condoms break, so her using the pill at the same time is a good ideal.

When I read the name of this thread, I am thinking what the OP meant by 'girlfriend' was an actual LTR with someone you truly appreciate, not a drunken one-nighter with a headcase, which wouldn't qualify as 'Girlfriend' as far as I am concerned. But then again, the question was not: "What would you do if you got some random fvck buddy pregnant?"
If we assume you're into a healthy relationship with a quality girl and she gets pregnant then, well that kind of thing happen, it's not a disease it's just nature reminding us that shagging incidently is also for procreation. If you and your girlfriend have a sound relationship, now's gonna be the time to show that you're mature, responsible and caring enough to be a good father.

Everything is going great, he's banging her good, everything....then down the line the real chick comes out, and the guy is now stuck. The girls in the Close Friends with Benefits catergory, they resemble the Girlfriend/Wifey a little, and that's why the guy falls for it. But in time, she breaks lose.
Guys have got to be up to date with the current times. These guys are afraid to do approaches, they don't understand, there's nothing to be afraid of. Sexual state, sexual power, that's the sell. 95% of women want a good fvck. When you have all the sexual state and sexual power, you fvck them, but don't take that just because you fvcked her, that means that she likes you.

DJF or John, a lot of what you say I totally agree with. As far as my own experience goes, I can confirm the the girlfriend/wifey category is a very small percentage of the population. And even if you find one, doesn't mean you can afford to get sloppy and turn into into an AFC and hope to maintain a good relationship.
I'd follow Doc's advice on this when he says 'watch a girl's interest level for 60 days' and her attitude for the next couple of years. Only time can tell if your relationship is solid or not.

I can relate to this personally, except it's not what you think. My father cheated on his wife with my mom, he was already married and I was raised by my mom, never knew my father, I found out I have a half-brother who is one month younger than me!
So, It's one of those things, my mom was like 25 so she wasn't too young, but this thread made me think to ask her if she considered an abortion, if she had, obviously I would not be here to post this thread, sure it was difficult being raised by a single parent, but it also makes me want to be a great father because I never had any kind of father.

We live in such a disposeable society these days. Adoption is a viable option for unwanted pregnancy.
Some people like to use the excuse that having a child and putting it up for adoption is harder for a woman to go through, but it's really not. I know girls who have both had abortions and given children up for adoption, and they're both about equally fvcked up. Both situations will emotionally damage a woman.
The truth is that you won't ever truly know how you feel or what you think is the right thing to do until you're in that situation. It doesn't matter how staunchly you believe in something, you'll at least temporarily question your beliefs when the situation arises.
Both my girlfriend at the time and I were staunchly anti-abortion until she got pregnant. But we actually considered abortion as an option. We decided against it, but it did get thought about.
It works both ways. A good friend of mine has always been staunchly pro-abortion. But he's been through three of them now with two different girls. And he still wonders what his life would be like if he hadn't done that. When he speaks of those times, he speaks of them bitterly.

It all depends on the situation. Is this a woman you plan to spend your life with anyway? Or is it a casual thing? Can it turn into more serious?
Personally at this point in my life I would push for abortion, if that's not an option, then giving the kid up for adotion, and finally, if that is not an option, then I'll be calling my lawyers ASAP to figure out a way out of paying child support. I'm sure with proper persuasion it would be easy to convince the mother to be, to sign off on a contract stating that she would not seek any support for herself or the child.
Lastly, to the people who have suggested the "coat hanger", and other ways of eliminating the problem. That's just going too freaking far. While in concept I agree, in principle it's just wrong.
