Finally got around to Finishing FF7 Rebirth. I wanted to finish it before June as cheats like "Infinite HP" will be available by then and I didnt want to deal with the temptation.

Its a very polished game but Im still not fond of them splitting the "Remake" in three parts. I would (personally) give this a solid eight out of ten but it has more than 90% on Metacritic and OpenCritic

Just spent the evening with my woman beating this game. I would give it at least an 8/10. For those of you with kids it has up to four player couch co op.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Canon prequel to the characters of Breath of The Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but the gameplay is obviously very different from those games. I would give this a solid 8 out of 10. Available exclusively on Nintendo Switch´s successor.

A spiritual successor of sorts to Mystical Ninja. Gave me some Retro vibes for some reason, like a good N64/Ps1 game but with modern graphics n stuff.

At least an 8 out of 10. This game Is a available on Nintendo Switch and PC. It Is Steam Deck Verified.

This is basically Sonic´s take on Breath of the Wild. I would give it an 8 out of 10. Available on Ps4/Ps5, Xbox 1/Series, PC (Steam Deck Verified), and Switch/Pro

Splatoon 3 / Splatoon 3 Side Order

This game was a gift from my woman. Its a third person shooter available for Nintendo Switch (or Switch Successor via backwards compatibility).

This game got an 83/100 on metacritic and a 93/100 on open critic. The game has a main story campaign and an online multiplayer (but I always skip the multiplayer on Splatoon games as it would require paying Nintnedo an Online subscription). In addition to the main story campaign, there is an additional story dlc called "Side Order".

I dont remember much about the main story campaign: I completed a level, stop for the day, rinse & repeat until a final boss. But Side Order? That was a whole different beast.

Side Order has ten levels that are kind of a tutorial and then you have 30 normal levels. But Side Order is one of those games were you will die a lot and basically have to start from scratch. The thing is you can get currency to get some permanent upgrades after every run so every attempt you have a better chance of completing the 30 levels. Basically a "Roguelite"

So we watched a movie last night called Exit 8. The whole time I kept thinking the movie felt like a video game.

Turned out the movie is in fact based on a video game called The Exit 8. You can finish the game in less than an hour. We liked both the movie and the game.

I just finished Dark Souls Remastered on my Switch. The game has a notorious reputation for being difficult since it doesn't hold your hand. I started it about a year and a half ago, but I never completed it because the controls were cumbersome, the game was somewhat janky, and I upgraded the wrong stats on my character.

Either way, I started it again about a week ago, and I was basically consumed by the game. I completed it without a guide, and I am completely content with that.

I tried Bloodborne a few years ago and got stuck very quickly. I have been thinking of giving it another go but my free time is so limited and there are so many games out there to spend time stuck on the hard ones.

You could always follow a guide. I read that Dark Souls 1 is more about exploration, while Bloodborne is more action-focused. Therefore, most of the battles are 1v1, and that is where the fun is. If you are overleveled, though, it is easier to make mistakes during battle.

I haven't played Bloodborne, but what I struggled with the most in DS1 was the second half, where the levels became gimmicky. I was not only fighting the monsters but also gravity itself. I fell a lot, and I needed specific items to beat the "dungeons" that were only found somewhere else (a lantern to see in a dark cave; a special ring to walk on lava; being cursed to kill ghosts). The developers did say they ran out of time to create the second half of the levels, hence the gimmicks, but everything I read said the first half had some of the best level design ever created. I am sure Bloodborne should be better and more fluid than DS1.

I never finished part 2, I probably should. So I do enjoy the gameplay but.. man.. that story.. if someone ever asks me about Final Fantasy 7 I usually just recommend the original.
