Do you remember if the reviews were general or specific to the switch version? I completed the stoy on ps4 and didnt experience any glitches. As for frame drops, nothing that I payed attention to or made the game unplayable.
I watched both reviews from SwitchUp and Nintendo Life. The comments and on reddit said it was for both the PS4 and the Switch, and it was due to the limitations of the old engine. They also said it was the Metroid Prime of the Switch, in which it was released before Metroid Prime Remaster came out.
