"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm older than most of you and way back there was a implied exclusivity while dating. Things are different now.... it's hard for me to think that women also spin plates...

So what are some good DJ responses to "I'm dating others"... ?

Not being butt hurt or trying to end relationships but just being cool with the way things are now.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Not yet... LTR FWB situation (mistress) and we care for each other....

I just don't want to be blindsided and say something stupid or that sounds jealous....

That's harder said than done... Trying to keep my cool and not come across all butt hurt.

Any other suggestions ?

So are you exclusive? LTR sounds exclusive. Are you married too?

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

"And...?"
"Congratulations. Now where were we?"
"Is she adventurous?"
"Great. I could use the time off."
"Want a few pointers?"
"Have fun"

Don't ask her about it. She should care enough about your feelings not to bring it up. Yes she will date if you are trying to cool things. She will have sex with you until you finally get the ljbf speech. Have you thought about a clean break? This situation has the potential to really screw with your emotions.

Right now we still are good..... a good fun relationship but eventually the time will come for things to end. A clean break won't work since we see each other professionally and we really are good friends.

SS has helped me along the way with different issues.... Most importantly that when we go our own ways as a man I'll be just fine. That pain is temporary and you have to rise above it.

The proper response is to wish her all the best, stop contacting her, and consider yourself lucky she gave you the perfect opportunity to easily walk. A clean break always works.

Hate to break it to you but she has been with other men during those two years she was your "exclusive" side piece. The only difference is that now she is dating one of them who she perceives as more valuable than anything you offer, even y'all's "really good friends"-only relationship.

You have lost control of the relationship. It's too late. End it.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
