"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I'll keep this short.

Been seeing my fb almost 3 years.
She wants a relationship. I don't. Told her I just want sex but I like her. She's fine with it.
I went to LA and Vegas for 2 weeks (I don't live in the US). We texted each other during that period.
She wanted a gift (she specifically mentioned Victoria Secrets). I bought her a MGM Grand lion souvenir .
Flew back home. Had sex. Gave her the lion. She text me this: "Thanks for thinking about me but I don't have any use of this thing so I'll pack it nicely again in case you want to give it to someone else"

I saw this as disrespectful and we haven't contacted each other since then. Been 1½ weeks.

She's a lot older than me that's why I don't want anything serious with her but she is a good person and I like her for that. But this was crossing my boundaries.

Should I let her know that or should I stay in no contact and keep gaming?
Should I take back the gift?

The reason I'm writing this is to get it off my chest.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

If you WERE going to buy her anything, it wouldn't have hurt to make it personal. An MGM lion isn't and you shouldn't expect her to thank you for it.

You don't have to buy her Vic Secret gear, or anything at all. She's thinking that she's giving you free FB sex with NO chance of a relationship, why couldn't he have given me something (anything), slightly personal?

That's not beta bucks. It's just being slightly thoughtful and keeping the tap running. IMO.

I'm bad when it comes to gifts. what is a personal gift to a person you're only having sex with and don't want to give false hope about a relationship?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

I agree as well I just don't have any gift advice because I hate gifts, they're bad obligations. "Favors are bad news, the only thing worse than a favor is a favor involving money."

You kind of put yourself in a bind here - A trip to Victoria's Secret with her to pick out a pair of panties YOU like would have had her wet the whole time. But you missed that.
Definitely - that MGM lion is about as much of a panty wetter as a bucket of phlegm.

At this point, I don't think you have any choice but to stay non contact. Hopefully her conscience will get the best of her and she will reach out and apologize. At that point, and only that point, you can apologize too. Then it is back to sex.
When it comes to FBs and f r e e sex, I don't mind feeding their hamster wheel occasionally, or at least oiling it. The deal here is, that if you don't contact her, she may head off and another lucky soul will likely reap the benefits.

Perhaps you could paint a certain picture of your NC reason if you don't hear from her for another week - make it good though, she'll smell a lie a mile away. You really need to establish what you really want with her, basically FB or no FB And then decide a plan forward.

If you stay NC and she stays NC = 0 result.

The reason I didn't buy her that gift is because I didn't want to give her false hope about a relationship. Like you said I should've gotten something better to keep the wheel running.

I talked to her she said that I shouldn't had bought her anything at all and that at least the Victoria secret would show her I appreciate her.
I even bought her a decoration thing from Greece last year which she said I shouldn't bought because she can't use it.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Let her know that you really care and appreciate your time together and that it's been great, but it's time to let her go so that she can pursue the relationship that you are not ready for(or want because she is older but don't say that lol) and that you wish her the best.Tell her it is not because she did not appreciate the gifts but because first you are bad at gifting and second you are just not wiling to continue wasting her time because you want her to be happy. She will cry, apologize and beg you to stay but you let it go.like you said she is old,is now looking to get you caught up and is not wifey material. She is started to get clingy.

Probably best to bin her.

Although that choice of gift (the MGM lion) is retarded. Something personal would have been a good plan. Yes you don't have to get her something but it would have been a good idea.

It's legit and no not from a female lol, your breakup game has got to be just as tight as your pick up game or you open yourself up to stalkers and women who turn psycho. He said she is too old for his liking and now pressuring him for a GF title(the fact that she got upset and stopped talking to him over a gift shows she is no longer gonna take that) even though she knows she is just a fb.

I told her we can end it if the situation makes her unhappy. Her response was why can't I change my behavior in order to make her happy: take her out on dates and bs like that. I told her I won't change and I've been like this with her since the first day we met.

One thing I learned from this is that you have to feed the hamster wheel occasionally when it comes to fb.

Do you see how retarded you are in this? You are having a sexual relationship only with this woman, and she asks for you to get her something sexual, something she would then wear for you when you come over and rail her out.

Then you buy her stupid gifts like you would a friend. It makes no sense. You only want sex from her, but then won't buy her something sexual she asks for but will buy her something like she is a friend, which you already told her you didn't want to be.

I'd be mad too...you are acting like you are socially retarded.

Leave him alone,he is young and I'm pretty sure he thought about getting something from Vic Secret, but who really goes up in there alone without his chick, you can argue that he could have gone up in there and work with a hired gun and spit some game at the same time, but if he is inexperienced then he would have just looked like a sexual deviant which I'm sure is why he didn't go there. Either way,let her go,it starts with a complaint, then a blowout and finally an assault from her, trust me it's not worth it.

I get your point and that's the lesson I got from this whole situation. But she has an ungrateful personality so for future she won't even get a sexual gift.

At the end of the day I'm glad I bought her the lion. It showed me her ungratefulness.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
