What Women Want in a Man

#1: Socual status
#2: Intelligence (Social intelligence)
#3: Humor (Interpreted as less intelligent and trustworthy but more socially savvy and empathic)
#4: Trustworthy emotional stability (sense of rhythm, use of voice(according to the professor you can tell a lot about a person's emotional stability just from their tone of voice))
#5: Athletically Built. Length correlates with firtility. Men with girlfriends are an inch taller than single men on average.
#6: Love, affection, willingness to invest
#7: Good Health (Symmetry face and body).

Sexual Selection = advertising good genes.

What Men Look For in Women

#1: Youth. Fertility, health, energy for care of elders
#2: Beauty, advertisement of good genes.(Babies of 3 months already react to facial symmetry)


So to summarize:

Men: Beauty is quick indicator for good genes.
Women: 'Combination-strategy': monogamous, but when in doubt about their partner's genes, they will get inseminated by another man (spreading risks).

Men want good genes while women want good genes + resources and safety.

Also everyone reading this should keep in mind this is all "best case scenerio". Which means... what men and women want in an ideal world. The vast majority of the population won't measure up to these traits.

Most people will end up settling for whoever has their most important trait while letting other shortcomings slide.

For instance.. a woman might trade emotional stability for good genes (wife beater anyone?) or a man might trait youth for beauty (30+ women in the first stages of letting themselves go OR women with bastard kids).
