"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So I am 21 years old and will be turning 22 next year. I am in my last year at college and will be made redundant at my job by the end of the month (office type job).

I really enjoyed my job. Cool atmosphere, very chill, great culture, cute girls. Had a lot of success meeting girls at work and always went out at the end of my shift. It pretty much gave me a reason to get up in the morning and an eagerness to see my work mates. Now that we are closing chances are we will all lose contact so no more going out.

Now i have to go and find a new most likely very boring (full time) job by next year. Was going to do another degree while working but might have to change plans.

The thought of working 9 to 5 is really depressing. And if im working full time i dont really have a reason for making money except for paying rent and food.

Dont want to sound depressed, I understand that there are people who are 50 and lose their jobs with a family to support.

I have no one to support except myself. I have hobbies and work out. I dont have a gf and didnt need one to be happy when I was working.

Work, pay bills, get married have kids blah blah

Suggestions? and what is your passion in life that keeps you going everyday?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

If things are going great now, why shouldn't they later just because
circumstances change?
