"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

What is a balanced social life?

I'm sick and tired of bars and clubs. It doesn't matter how successful I am getting girls there, whether I have a ONS or don't approach a single girl all night. It's just not fulfilling! So, I want to build myself a more balanced social life, one that doesn't revolve around going out to bars and clubs on Friday and Saturday nights. But, I don't even know where to begin.

I think someone with a balanced social life would have a variety of social activities during the week and wouldn't rely on Friday and Saturday nights for a good time. My question is, though, what else is there to do on Friday and Saturday nights?

I have my own hobbies and interests and I'm sure that by joining some clubs and such, I could create myself a really good social life during the week, one that was fulfilling and allowed me to meet a lot of cool people. I'm sure I could then date some girls I meet from there. But, I don't know what I would do on Friday and Saturday nights?

I don't know what the hell people do! If you don't want to party every weekend, but don't want to stay in on the weekends, what do you do?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
It's a damned shame, isn't it? We all have so much fun until we hit the legal age...then it seems like from that point on all we do is drink on the weekends.

It's hard to find anything to do on those nights, though. It seems that most places shut down early. (probably because everyone's drinking) I always used to laugh that the reason the gym closed early on Saturday was because they didn't want people coming in after getting drunk and trying to work out. :D

I'd say try doing stuff you USED to do before you could drink. Go see a movie with some buds, or grab dinner at a restaurant, play pool, maybe go bowling if you're into that, cruise around and look for trouble, etc...all of which are MUCH less expensive than drinking.

Pre-nighttime, there's a LOT more to do. But Friday and Saturday nights can get boring if you don't "go out." Sometimes, though, it's better to just take a break from that crap.

It's a lot easier if you live in an urban environment...there there's more people and things are open a lot later, sometimes 24 hours, so you can always go SOMEWHERE and possibly meet new people.

SEriously, though, if anyone else has a thought, I'm open to it. I face this dilemma often myself.

Join a fitness club

The women you'll meet there are better anyway. Let's face it, 80 percent of the women out at bars smoke or are closet smokers. Who wants that?

A fitness club is great because you can join a cycling class or just work out on weights and ask women things like how much they're lifting, how does this machine work, etc., and they're always friendly at a club. Fitness promotes health and well-being. Bars promote drinking, poor health and negative attitudes.

That doesn't mean I don't go out. I like to go to sports bars to watch games, but I won't hit on a woman at a bar. They always have inflated views of themselves in these places and it's one big game.

Fitness/health clubs are the way to go, IMO.

Other good places to meet QUALITY women (I know, in the U.S. that's kind of an oxymoron) are:

Coffee shops
Bookstores
Outdoor parks
Art galleries
Night classes
College (the best place, IMO)

Wean yourself from the bar scene.

* I've noticed all the recently legals here just go clubbing all the time and the reports coming back are always negative. She did this to me, she flirted with another guy, me and another guy got into a brawl, she left with her friends, her boyfriend showed up ... etc. Get out of the bar/club scene. It's a negative.

Parties, social gatherings. I mean I NEVER go straight to clubs anymore, I did when I was like 18. Now we always have some party first and maybe hit clubs afterwards and if we do we have an afterparty. Sometimes we'll go a bunch out to dinner or movies or whatever. And no this isn't ONE gang, I have several of these social circles I can go do this with and that's whats nice.

Yes! Clubs or activities are great like Martial Arts or some sport or whatever. Not only does it heal and strengthen both mind and body it also allows you to meet alot of interesting and fun people your age.

I don't know what the hell people do! If you don't want to party every weekend, but don't want to stay in on the weekends, what do you do?
Mostly party party party. But if I'm low on cash or whatever else comes my way it's usually some date or dinner or movie or movienight at someones house or whatever.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Friday and Saturday nights?

I like the Idea of the book store or coffe shop.

I use to have a friend who was a writer. It sounds gay, but there was this coffee house near where I live that had open mike poetry readings. We went a couple of times. You got more women there than guys. Mostly "earth girls". But hey, it was different... Oh, and as for entertainment value, there are some seriously wacked people out there! Poems about frigg'n walls, grass, you name it... Come to think of it, these people must have been high...

don't be a hypocrite. Just because someone hangs at bars/clubs on weekend nights doesn't mean they don't snowboard/hike/jog during the day.

A balanced social life is where you just about try and do as many new things as you can with a variety of ppl you meet.

define the world social. social = socializing no? If you're a good socializer and know how to have fun right from the start, you'll realize you wont even have to try hard to have a social, outgoing life. The best place IMHO is college, you meet new ppl everyday, there are ppl streaming all over in your age group and similar interests.

i always enjoy the fun of meeting new ppl, ppl will always be different, that's what makes it so exciting to meet them and learn about them.

Now i, dont really have a lot of close friends, only a few.
but many ppl that i've met on campus, i've made a friend of or an acquantence.

they see that i'm a fun guy and theyre cool with me, they will most often invite me to whatever social event they plan on going to. the friends i have now, they pretty much DO the same thing every week and they might not like to meet new ppl/make friends cause they fear rejection and like to stay in a circle (where their comfort zone exists).

and for this reason, i have pushed myself (not to the MAX, but far enough) to learn how to talk to ppl and understand them.

I admit, there are some days or weeks where i wont really have much to do or do the same things. but every so often the ppl that i've met, will call me out and hang out with them cause they find me an interesting guy.
I would be doing the same to them if i had a car or wasnt so caught up with work/college....and IF I HAD SOME FRIGGIN FRIENDS THAT ENJOY MEETING NEW PPL. most of my friends fear hanging out with a new group of ppl they dont know, cause they fear rejection. not everyone is like this, open-minded ppl like me exist out there.

i'venever been to a concert all my life, but this dude i was cool with i knew last semester and this semester, he asked me what music i liked, i answered and it was a good response, now he's asknig me to join his buddies to go to a county upstate to see a rock concert.

another eexample: today this dude i regularly talk to in class that meets up 1x a week, he was about to ask me to join him bowling wiht members of some club in school, of course i couldnt make it cause i had other plans. but if i didnt have plans, yell hell i'd go, even if it was just a social gathering i'd still go.

thebest solution is to meet a variety of ppl. Variety = different.
different = different tastes, social events, personalities, FUN..
+ the individual u meet, KNOW ANOTHER CIRCLE OF FRIENDS..AND SO ON AND SO ON...ENDLESS.

GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE. the different ppl that you make friends of, their social events WILL BE out of your routinely activities, something different and fresh, and new learning experience.

this will benefit you in the end, as this is always beneficial towards networking and your future

Not only that. At the same time I'm high energetic, playfull etc I will have this sexually driven "mysterious" aura, like there is something more to me. I think it's all in the eye and bodylanguage :)
And another one. Here the topic is opening doors for women. You hijack the thread to tell us what a suave player you are.

She was really impressed by my acting... That is opening door, helping with dishes etc! I was stupid though and started seeing another girl the day after and I was very stupid. This girl called/SMS(TXTD) our fellow female friends almost every SINGLE day for 3 weeks asking what I was upto (in those 3 weeks I sent aprox 3 SMS to her....). Finally they told her I was seeing someone else. God that fvcked me over and she got MAD pissed and wouldn't see me. The dumb thing was that I was completely broke two of those weeks so I actually couldn't see her due to 20 min traveling distance with buss...

Fun thing was that I saw her out friday or something and tried apologizing (Ye FVCK IT I DO ACTUALLY APOLOGIZE. And besides I did treat her like ****)... She said lets just drop it and all that and I just went dancing. Whole time I was dancing she was looking at me and you could see the sadness inn her eyes! Sooooo I'm thinking I'm gonna try and madgame her on the side abit later on!

But anyways, being a gentleman = BIG YES if it fits your style. If you are the badass motharfvckar rockstar type then no... I'm the boyish player that dresses suave (shirt, dressjacket etc) and even though I'm a player I have Style and I'm a gentleman when the situation calls for it!

Honestly, no offense intended Kinetic, but quite a few of your posts seem to end up referring to yourself, and whats so great about being him. You come off as the good looking, suave, confident socialiser with a huge range of friends and activities to choose from.

All of which makes you wonder how you found time to post over 8 posts every day for the last 4 months.

No I used citations from another thread to make a point. I'll edit, sorry for the confusion.
