"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

What happens when you get rid of your ego?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

You get people to walk over you? You don't strive to be better? You get more caring about others?

Honestly, I think minimizing or detaching yourself from your ego is one of the things that can really help you out in your game and life in general.

You start to see things as they really are; objectively. The ego can be blinding at times and cover up possibly beneficial situations, where if you might have acted a little differently, you could have "won the pot" so to speak. That's how I look at it anyway.

I should probably expand on this a bit:

From what I've seen and experienced, a lot of guys are pretty rigid in their self-image. When I go out to the bars and clubs, you can see the dudes that are all caught up in their ego and self-image.

These are the guys that are hanging out in the corners standing with their chests puffed out exaggeratedly with their drinks to their chest, trying to stand taller than they really are (random question: has anyone else noticed a high concentration of short guys in bars/clubs? Seems to be the way it is here in Denver), you know, trying to look cool/hard and basically just posturing. Then one of em goes up, opens a chick, gets blown out, turns red, and goes back to his crew of ball lickers.

Yeah, don't be that guy. Be flexible in what you expect of yourself, and understand that so many parts of life and the game are entirely subjective, just products of electric impulses and brain chemicals and social programming and social dynamics.

1.) Don't confuse who you ARE with who you are percieved to be by others
2.) Don't take things too seriously. If some chickie is indifferent to you, suck it up. Don't take it personally.

I guess that's all I have to say about that.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
