Don Juan
just wanted to know...the first SS article i ever read was by Pook, but a long time after he left...he seemed to be an SS demi-god, so where did he go?
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
This should be in the bible.TillTheEndOfTime said:Who cares? Only you can help yourself, not Pook.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
Nothing. I think it's awesome.CloudSurfer said:What is bad about a new born and an overweight wife?
Is a miracle, especially the new born.
I wish Pook, could be among us.
and help us.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
The guys are just having fun being silly at Pooks expense. Most of us here respect him as a pioneer. I think very few here are actually jealous of him.coachD said:Maybe he gave all there was to give and moved on. All the jealousy towards him is amazing. At some point though you do have to go do it. My guess is he feels like he addressed all the things that needed to be addressed and moved on.
Totally agree. I have described Pook's writing the EXACT same way before.Darth said:People like Pook because he made a lot of very good points and told it mostly in parable format which was highly entertaining yet informative.
"Woman, I summon thee..." etc.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
Atom smasher - I am agreeing and aligning myself with you.Atom Smasher said:Takeaway: Verbally align yourself with a person whom your listener esteems, and you become esteemed. Effortless social proof. Apply that to game and to life.
