"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I'm going through a bit of a low in life right now. Just got out of a relationship, and school/work is a lot for me. I'm having trouble making it through each day.

So when you all are having times like these, what things do you do to help yourself? Me, I usually just try to eat well and sleep well, but I've been sleeping so poorly lately that I've been feeling awful. So I'd like to hear about what other people do when they are having hard times; if anything I'll be encouraged to be strong by other people's stories.

And this is my first post, so let's not flame me too much just yet, please.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

What about joining the Army?

It would be a fine way to build your body, recover your shape, get a bit of money, visit foreign countries, and even earning a number of interesting stories to tell to your future girl. Don't forget how much fascination a military uniform can build inside a woman's head. No surprise that militia has the highest ranks on Hotornot.com. Most importantly you'll learn what it takes to be a man and pursue something in life.

So, do you like my idea?

And die in the process...great idea!
So everyone that joins the army dies? I do think it is honorable to serve your country. Although I do think it's a bit of a harsh move just to get out of a rut.

I like to think that things will heal over time.

I will break it down for ya so you will understand!

There is always a cloudy day before it is sunny again. Time will heal all. Get yourself right first. If you do not, you will not be ready for a realationship or even dating. Love yourself and treat yourself right, then you can treat others right. I wouldn't suggest joining the armed forces though, unless you really want to.

Good luck and try and think good thoughts. I am at a down period in my life too. Probably getting a divorce because my wife is an alcoholic and I f**cking hate my job and I have dated 2 flakes back to back, but you know what.... If I try and maintain a positive attitude, I do feel somewhat better. Like I said, Time reveals and heals all!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I've thought about the army before, but it's not something I could do. I'm too much of a humanist to contribute to taking lives.

Anyway joining the military is more of a long-term solution. Times are rough but I know they will get better. I'm just talking about the day-to-day stuff, something to do or think about to get my mind off stress until life eases up a bit.

Anyone know any good books?

Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It's 40 years old but the classic in self-improvement. It will help you begin to reprogram your mind to think positively with efficient thoughts to control your emotions. What you think, is what expands in the universe.

If you're in a rut, mix things up. Do things you've never done before and just start changing the whole dynamic and momentum of your life. It will be slow at first, but after you get the ball rolling, your life will start to improve dramatically.

Remember: if you do the same things, you can expect the same results.

Here's a little trick I do whenever I get in a rut...Don't turn down any invitations (unless you have a schedule conflict). You'd be surprised how many people actually want to do things with us. We just get in the habit of saying "no" because we'd rather just stay home and feel sorry for ourselves. Try something different! Instead of blowing everyone off, say yes to everyone. That will fill up your calendar and help you meet some exciting new people (male and female)!
