Keep it to the point, don't keep on trying to convince her. State your side and then be unaffected by her decision of who to listen to.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
plec rightly put about going overboard. Simply state it once , repeating cetain points for a mere emphasis at max. Dont be affected by the outcome.Plec07 said:Keep it to the point, don't keep on trying to convince her. State your side and then be unaffected by her decision of who to listen to.
So My monologue would probably be something like this, and I would state it once and only once with some emphasis?SIDEBOARD said:"Alright I'm gonna explain my side of the story, it's your choice to believe it or not, all I'm asking you is, are you willing to listen?"
"Monday morning when I entered school, I had a smile like the greatest thing happened to me, of course my buds were interested and asked so I told them the about the concert, I was happy cause you came with me,and I counted that as the score, now our common friend knew all about what happened with me holding your bag from your bro, so he joked about that and I even asked if holding your bag and buying you Iced tea was right, also I told them about the times I dragged you to the front rows of the pit. I don't know who you got the story that I was counting the bag thing as a score, I don't know who told you that me leading you deeper into the pit was me trying to molest you, and frankly I don't care. Now thats my side of the story so once again, it's your choice to believe it or not"
*walks away*
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Writing some long-ass response to her drama.SIDEBOARD said:Could you give an example of being overboard?
