"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

On Tinder, it’s super common to see guys listing their height. The implied reason is that women who are attracted to men actually give a **** about this physical trait. I even once saw a guy list his height on his profile—5’8”—while simultaneously complaining that women cared so much about it. That was definitely a swipe left, but it seems like there’s this perceived obsession that women usually only want to date guys who are taller than them.

Relationships are an investment. Women get the short end of the stick in most cases. Men will use us to prove their worth socially… It is only fair we get to do the same because society looks at women with short, unattractive men as being foolish, gold diggers, etc. Why should I take a social blow for a short man when they rarely take social blows being with an ugly woman? They want to judge us on dating sites by photos of our faces and bodies to decide if we’re “worthy” of their attention. Well how tall are you? Are you worthy of my attention back? Why are men the only people who get to make ego-based decisions? I have an ego as well.

So, I decided to ask a bunch of women who are into guys if they actually give a ****. For the record, I’m 5’4” and, as a general rule, won’t seriously date guys who are shorter than me (though I have dated someone the same height as me).

Here’s what other women think about your height:

If you know the man long-term and he’s short and you like his personality, there’s no issue there with dating. The issue comes when we can’t make decisions to protect our own egos, when we are being told the egos of unfamiliar men are more valuable than our own. On a format as shallow as Tinder, women are being solely judged on our appearance overall… If you have an issue with telling me your height so I can make a socially conscious decision, then I have an issue with you looking at my face so you can do the same. —Celia, 26

I’m 5’9,” so I’m pretty tall, but I still like to wear heels. My boyfriend is only a few inches taller than me, but he prefers when I wear heels that don’t make me look taller than him. I personally don’t mind it at all and do it anyway. I’ve also had a few men I was interested in before tell me that they didn’t like that I was taller than them—I think they find it intimidating for some reason. —Sam, 26

Height: It doesn’t matter when you’re lying down, but significant differences in height do make some couple activities like dancing or taking photos together a little more challenging. Nothing that can’t be remedied with a little creativity. Plus, it can be really cute when people are in love and really different heights. If it’s like a fling though, and I were choosing for superficial reasons, taller than me is preferable. If you’re looking for a significant connection, measurements are not that important, but a one-nighter you might just want to sleep with someone who checks all the boxes in terms of your own idea of what is attractive, which could be tall or short. —Hannah, 28

I’m 5’8,” and my new boyfriend is much taller than my ex. My ex was about my height. I’m a pretty tall girl. Honestly, it’s never a thought to me. Sometimes I see myself almost being like, omg, [my boyfriend] is so much taller than me! But then I’m like, why do I care? Am I joyful in comparison to my ex? I just don’t have time or the heart space to look into these things. I just like to hug him, which for playful purposes, I do love the height of [my boyfriend]. But we’re just a more playful couple than my previous relationship so, back to that heart space… don’t care. You’re hot. —Megan, 24

I’m decently tall—5’7”—and would like for my partner to be taller than me
. I’d like it if they were taller than me in heels, too. My last partner was 6’1, and I was happy with that, but the two before him were 5’9. It’s a preference, but not a requirement. And I’m willing to break the preference for Zac Efron or Scott Disick. Generally speaking, I have a type. But I will not rule someone out based on height alone. It may, however, be a contributing factor when paired with other things I don’t like. —Erica, 24

I don’t find height matters personally, like, at all. But some guys have hangups if they are shorter than you. I found they make little comments like when we are dancing or if they wanted a kiss. They would make little apologies or ask if I could avoid wearing high shoes. Personally, I am only 5’3, so it’s pretty rare for me to find anyone shorter. I briefly went out with a guy who came just under my shoulders. I found it was him or others who seemed most affected. The guy I am currently with is much taller than I am, and it gets tricky when cropping or posing for photos, but other than that, no big deal. One guy I liked was almost exactly my height. It was convenient in some ways but not a factor in the attraction. I find it is always handy to have someone tall to help me with household things, but I have friends for that. There are much more important things to look for in a partner. —Laney, 31

I’m 5’7. I have dated dudes shorter than me, my height, and taller than me. I gotta say it was much better when they were my height. Tall is OK and convenient for getting **** off shelves and stuff, but that’s too much person. People don’t need to be that much people. —Kaylin, 26

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Already enough threads about something one cannot control, and doesn't really matter

From a LTR perspective, if a woman is so superficial that height is a selection factor, she screens herself out

If YOU are so insecure that your height, or lack of it, is an issue, you screen yourself out too

From a short term perspective, the biggest players I know irl are about 5'9" so average or a bit below
They more than make up for it with physique, active interesting lifestyle, social connections and charm
Not wealth and Not facial attractiveness (one even has serious acne scars, though not ugly)

The tallest guys I know are hardly "lady killers".
Height is maybe more impressive to some guys than it is to women in general

@BadBoy89 "Thoughts?"

Similar to pondering: "Are women with large breasts often viewed as more sexually desirable than those who are smaller chested?"

OFTEN TIMES, sure, nonetheless this is hardly a deterrent. Mila Kunis has had mouths watering since The 2000s, and Kit Harrington(casting books have him listed as 5'7. Rose Leslie appears to be taller than him in casual photos)has had panties dropping since he first appeared onscreen

pretty much everyone cares about how tall. men and women. as men we notice when a guy arrives that is taller than average in the venue. women also notice. instinctively the height gets some respect by default.

much better to understand it then to fight it.

all smv is relative, height, money, looks, status, everything. i mean don't compete in basketball if your short, yes you can do it but its not easy.

the passport guys get this point very well about relative smv. if your relative smv is low in an area and its very very difficult to gain a completive position relatively, then the simple solution is move. why spend years or even days in a bad situation when you do not have to do that.

on the other hand how many times do we think.

its just because he is tall.
its just because he is an actor
its just because he is wealthy
its just because he is the boss
its just because he is a winner
its just because..........

you are your own master... do something to be the one, or move to where what you already are becomes the reason your chosen. its really simple.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

A man bothered by his height is a turn off for women. I know plenty of men that do fine with women that are taller than they are, the difference is that they don't give a fvck about things they can't control. If they come across a woman that is bothered by his height, they just move on and don't give it any thought about it.

It's not easy for women that are tall. Many men will never approach them because of this.

It’s the self-defeatist mentality that brings this forum down. I always ask myself how this information will help me get laid, and nine times out of ten, just like this thread, it doesn’t.

I would categorize these comments as a good example of women saying one thing then doing another. Women have a long history of claiming to be looking for certain traits in a man then throwing all of them out the window to actually repeatedly date men lacking any of those traits.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
