I needed to get some experience in my profession. As a general consensus, everyone goes into managing male sports teams as that's the most common scenario. I've gone back to my local club initially more so to get back to hanging with the guys and get back into training (these guys regardless of myself, accept me for who I am).
Thing is, their female team equivalent ended up looking for a manager and I put my hand up and got the position. Thing is I feel the general consensus around my class cohort is that everyone is taking the piss out of me (I'm your typical ladies flirt so 'how are we not surprised you're now working with a woman's sports team' is the underlying tone of what I get from everyone).
Yes I know in all honesty this should not affect me but I am not sure if I've missed anything. I've never been part of the 'boys club' regardless of how hard I've tried to 'fit in'. Ironically, it's the boys club that I've always tried to fit in yet I've never grasped it.
