Let me get this straight; this is the ultimate Cinderella show - a bunch of women preen for the attention of the handsome unattached alpha "prince" - but they call it a sexist show that allows the bachelor to act like a "pimp"?
Are there any men who actually watch this show of their own volition (yes, I could see a man watching this because his woman is watching it, and he's basically stuck watching it) more than just to see what the hoopla is all about?
Perhaps it is that these women don't like the idea of the hypergamic female putting out, thereby debasing their sexual value?
18 years? Oh my, has it been that long? There may be no show on television as twisted about sex as The Bachelor. ABC’s long-running dating show, now in its 18th season, purports to find a man a wife, a mission in which it is only very sporadically successful. Despite its failure rate, The Bachelor continues to present itself as romantic, out to find a good man a life partner, a soul mate, a true love—all while behaving like a pimp.
