A firm handshake is perfectly fine with me.. Don't feel the need to be putting my arms around another dude!

However i notice, the man hug thing and hugging in general between men and woman in the workplace is definitely on the rise.

I would concur with the 'grumpy cat'.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

A definite no.

A pat on the back or a handshake is fine.
I think Vladimir Putin, has some guts to react in the way he did.

Most world leaders, would PLAY BALL from fear of accusations of being homophobic.

I give zero fuks about what Ukraine thinks.. I'm giving Putin some credit for THIS particular video, regarding, MAN HUGS.

No need to dig up Ukraine, that subject matter is totally unrelated..no point in getting all touchy about things bruv.

Not really, takes no guts at all. It's common knowledge that Putin is very homophobic, his reaction shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.

I reckon me and wifehunter, would react the same way.

I would defo AVOID man hugs, and extend my arm out for a hand shake instead.

Maybe we are homophobic

I hug family members guys or women. I usually do a handshake for men who aren't family, but if a guy initiates a hug I'll go with the hug and not sweat it. Girls get hugs but I'm careful at the workplace and leave it to the women to choose which she wants.

He's from the Orthodox church. Their priests can marry. Catholic priests can't, thus many of them turn to boys/homodom.

For business I'd pretty much always go handshake, maybe handshake with a pat on the arm or shoulder if it's less formal. The hug in this context was a bit bizarre.

On the other hand, nothing wrong with hugging a friend who's close to you, male or female. I don't hug male friends often but I see nothing wrong with it. Usually side-hug rather than front on, though.

I think the people who get all squeamish about hugging another man are usually the ones most likely to be repressing the fact they're gay, ha...

I'm confident that vaginas are my thing so it doesn't make me feel awkward. As long as you don't have a raging hard on there's absolutely nothing "gay" with giving a mate a casual hug/back pat, especially if they're depressed about something or feeling a bit s**t.

I think in appropriate context, hugs can communicate a friendly camaraderie that just chatting or shaking hands can't.

In a romantic context, they're also an excellent way to build early physical rapport with a woman and show confidence. But those hugs feel very different to the quick friend-hugs you'd share with a bro.

Hugs, crying, excessive emotions etc r women's domain, plenty of women around for that. There's no need for us men to enter that domain, we hv our own domain to maintain.

If some of u r into bromance that's fine too but it ain't for me nor would I encourage feminine traits.
