US women's soccer: Thrown under the bus

Now.. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm the biggest soccer fan on earth... but my GF is from England and so I've been forced to bare though this crap they call women's soccer for the last 2 weeks.

man did anyone catch the storyline today? Very interesting.

US had a golie that has not allowed a goal for 3 games... the coach yanks her for a goalie that beat Brazil...3 YEARS AGO... the backup golie

long story short... US got waxed.. 4-0.

Now.. I've played sports all my life. you win as a team.. you loose as a team. it's easy to point at one player.. but when you loose.. everyone contributed somehow

apparantly.. not so with the US Soccer team

my gosh, I don't think I've ever seen a person get thrown under a bus.. they not only threw her under.. they put it in reverse, then went to the top of a hill and drove off and landed on her.

The starting goalie that got yanked: "yes, that was a very stupid decision by our coach.. it was pointless. I woudln't have gave up 4 goals.. you can't go off what someoen did 4 years ago, that's stupid"

Another player on the team said: "Well.. you ca'nt win when you are playing 10 on 11 for 90 mintues.. we did what we could, but we were handicapped"
