University Film Groups

hey all.

well, the ANU film group is starting up again this semester, and I was thinking about joining, cause I thought it might be a good place to meet women. Y'know, the arty liberal arts types, cause they screen a lot of foreign and less mainstream films. Has anyone had any experience with university film groups?

no seriously dude. what do you reckon? i'm not going to waste money on a subscription for the film group when it could be full of guys.

Join anyway, regardless of girls. I took a film class at my college and learned an incredible amount and can appreciate good movies, and make fun of bad movies , much better now.

If possible you should check out these avante guard films:

Un Chien Andalou
The Begotten
Razor Blades (haven't been able to find a copy of this one, but looks mind-blowing)

My textbook for the course, Understanding Movies by Louis Gianetti, was excellent and I recommend you take a look at it.

its not a class dude, its this extra-curricular club thing when you pay like $30 for the semester and watch movies a couple of nights a week in one of the bigger lecture theatres that have the 9m screen.
