What do you guys think a good branch to serve in is for a teenager coming out of high school? I'm a former Marine myself but I never got to experience other branches. I always thought the Army is good but they lack discipline. Is this true? To all the veterans out there if you had to choose over again would you pick your branch or try something different? Do you think the Marines are elite or is the real hero Army Rangers?

The army is huge. It depends a lot on your unit. My cousin was 82nd airborne, and it was hellish in a physical and mental sense. Being cruel to combat troops is thought to make them tougher.

Where do I sign the papers, Sir?! That was one of my favorite stories of yours B_B. Not knocking you, because I respect the hell out of our old MMA days, but that was some good sh!t man.

Army is full of bull****

Marines is damn hard to make rank, but they won’t bs you and jerk you around like the Army will.

Go Air Force. Hell, go Coast Guard.

Don't join the navy unless you are a homosexual, or a boomer.

This! I was in the Navy and often get confused for both.

If I had it to do over again I would go Coast Guard. You get full military benefits with very little chance you will get killed in some rich White guy's war. You are usually stationed close to the coast (they even advertise...) rather than out in the middle of nowhere. Also I think your sense of "serving your country" is easier realized in the Coast Guard where you get face-to-face contact saving and helping people rather than faceless missions in other services. A lot of prior-service personnel go into the Coast Guard for a reason!

Unfortunately the Coasties have the fewest guaranteed jobs as well as the fewest ratings overall. BUT since they have so few their ratings tend to be more general than the specialized ratings in other services and you will do plenty during your tour so I think it has more civilian applications.

Yep. I JUST finished serving a considerable chunk of my life in the navy. I tried to warn others on here about them joining the 'regular' army or [insert branch and component here]. It has become entirely breached and defiled. The service members feeling the restraints of this SJW culture are no longer just the 'grunts' or 'special warfare' guys, but it HAS trickled down to every person and every rating, period. Your job is going to suck so much worse going in today, regardless of where you are in the world and what you do. I would know, I've worked all around the world on active duty...not kicking in doors and shooting bad guys. Proceed with intense caution if you do join up.

If I could do it all over again, I'd probably go into some other branch. The only branch worth it currently is the Marines. Even their special units like MARSOC have far fewer restraints holding them back, unlike all their other JSOC brother units. They are taking a lot of their orders from HQMC because they didn't really want them falling under Congressional control and discretion. Imagine climbing to the top of the food chain and into these elite army and navy units, just to be kept on a tight leash held by Nancy who won't let you go kick some ass when it needs to be done. Pass, pass, pass.

Go somewhere where there isn't females that are pretending they can be as powerful as men in combat situations brainwashed through Disney and the Media.

I for one wouldn't be counting on my female counterpart to be able to carry me through a field if I was wounded.

What about if you want to travel and see the world? Isn't the Navy a good branch to do that?

While on sea duty home-ported in Seattle, WA: Canada, Hawaii x2, Bahrain x2, Dubai x2/Abu Dhabi x1, Australia, India and the entire West Coast to include San Diego half a million times plus Norfolk, VA a few trips.
Shore duty: England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, a couple waste of money trips back to the U.S. and one last trip to Prague before the plandemic Downing Street lockdowns hit + my passport expired simultaneously as I counted down the days left in forlorn U.K., without my pistols, shotguns, knives or any common sense self-defense or leadership (military or civilian). Yes, nearby London and Bedford saw stabbings and shootings skyrocket during my time there.

If you go subsurface community bear in mind you won't be pulling into any foreign ports at all on certain platforms---Or if you are a linguist jack off you'll be sitting in Baltimore or Denver with a paper bag on your head with slits cut out for your eyes and mouth, never making anything above First Class. After the old retirement was phased out in 2018, no one really has incentives to stay beyond a contract or two.

Kind Regards,

Real Man Advice.

The political arena is a shyt storm. So I will give you my take on why the services are being degraded.

It has nothing to do with SJW’s or homos. Those are just vehicles. I’ve read some things and had talks with guys like “Mad dog” Mattis and others I served with. You have to understand the inherent and very real fear of socialists/communists of the military.

If a military won’t stand with you when you are in full power, you basically have no power to execute a complete control paradigm. You see, men like me will NOT fire on you because you won’t support the socialist/communist paradigm and are rebelling.

So what kind of military do you need to have where if needed, will fire on every day citizens demonstrating and saying no to abuse of power by elected psycho leftist politicians?

I think you can answer that. Socialist/communist led troops.
awesome input

Now if you want to kick a country’s arse and do it soundly, you have to have the Army. Their logistical and supply train is unequaled. They will run tanks up your arse without breaking a sweat. Just their attack helicopters are more formidable than any ground attack air force in history.
None of that helps the American military win wars. Just recently tried it twice and got sent packing by sheepherders with bottle rockets.

Intelligence, leadership, planning, and knowing your enemy AND your allies accomplishes the mission.

Navy

Did 5 years, plus a combat tour.

Military Police/Security wasn't my job, but while I was deployed, I was part of a team that responded to the Westgate mall attack in Kenya.

Loved every minute of being in the Navy.

Marines are a different breed. When chaos breaks out, they run towards it while most people run away from it.

If it wasn't for the Marine Corps, we'd all be speaking German right now.

The Marines trained the soldiers who invaded Normandy, but, they were barred from participating in the assault by Gen. Eisenhower.
SirBlueBalls would like to thank you for your Naval combat service bro. He's UK based and trolls these forums frequently.
