"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Heres the story: Me and my "friend" Eugene do not get along. We have known eachother since highschool, and got along for the most part throughout all that time. Now we go to a small private college outside LA, and we kind of got backed into being roomates (although this will only last one more month). Anyway, we are sophmores in college now, and ever since we were freshmen we have had bad blood toward eachother. There really isnt any reason why, we just dont like eachother. However, we have the same group of friends, so we tolerate eachother. Well, I was a bit of an as.shole a month ago and confronted him (infront of a few other friends of ours) about not paying the electric bill ontime, and he totally flipped out. He was yelling and shi.t and I just tried to play it cool to make it look like I was unaffected.

UPDATE: In an attempt to normalize things between us, I have apologized for calling him out. Now I am not sure if I feel good about it. It seems like since I was coming to him to apologize, it was like I was seeking his approval. But, some people say that "refusing to apologize is not a sign of strength but weakness. After all, one who refuses to say they're sorry acts out of fear, but one who admits they were wrong and asks for forgiveness acts out of courage." I understand both thoughts, what are yours?

Honestly, if it were me, I would try to forgive him and try to make the friendship work. Try to see what the root of the problem is between you two and try to work it out.

Just my 2 cents. I'm the forgiving type.
