The estimated number of total females was 143,368,343.

Granted, this was 5 years ago, but even if the number of females has since decreased or the number of males since increased, you'd still pretty much have a ratio of 1:1.

It's just as pathetic in the nightclub scene, except that the women in 2005 have turned to EACH OTHER sexually, while the men stand around and watch. Women now dance with and kiss each other, generally ignoring the neandrethals, who stand around and drool. I don't agree with that. A lot of women do the "bi" thing either out of curiosity, or to get attention from men. Most women are not completely gay, therefore they're still subject to DJ moves.

Englishman is right, though - most people don't care about getting stronger or smarter; it doesn't matter to them. Besides, between a job they hate and a family they can't stand, few men would [willingly] pile even more hardship on top of that. It's no mystery to me why comfort and ease are so favored in our society.

Still, PRmoon has a point, some people can have it so good that better isn't worth the effort ... though I'd be the first to admit that this has more to do with low standards and a lack of ambition that something actually supported by reality.

IMO, it's all about the bottom line - lower quality at a lower price is something most people don't have a problem with.

For those few great men, however, having better is worth any amount of hardship ... especially if you're a member of that even rarer breed for whom enduring hardship is also its own reward

This isn't necessarily true. Well at least not where I live anyway, there are litterally attractive girls everywhere. I think it's mostly to do with the fact that all of the casinos, bars, and strip clubs here staff so many coctail waitresses and more often then not the prefer ones on the more attractive side (If you want your clients to come back then it's really a necessity.) Couple that with the fact that there are thousands of bacholorette parties here every year, girls from cali, arizona, and utah (yeah utah does have some decently hot chics) who can drive here for weekend trips, Vegas is really a young mans dream. You honestly get desensitized to hot girls because they're just about every where you look.

Kinda pisses me off when I have to go back to Maryland though. I get depressed when I'm back in baltimore county because the talent level is so low. Ah well that's why I'm movin to Florida instead of back home to ole MD!

I've never been to a club... cuz i'm not 21 yet... and there aren't many under 21 clubs to go to.
