To anyone who knows about Lasik and wearing contacts

OK here goes--I really need Lasik and am willing to brave the small risks. I wear blue colored contacts, which I literally love this color. I understand that I need to go w/o contacts for a week prior to consultation, no problem there.

Now I intend to keep the colored contacts (non-prescript) in after surgery. My question is: How long do I have to wait AFTER surgery before I can put the contacts in? I know the rep told me 2-3 days recovery time, but was unsure about when I could wear the contacts again. Anyone know?

the **** isnt even FDA approaved. and there are some real bad consequences. permenantly fvcked up vision that not even glasses or contacts can fix. really dry eyes, I mean so dry that you gotta by special prescription $200 eyedrops that you have to drop in your eyes every hour. this is the most common side effect. night blindness is another, making it hard and dangerous to drive at night.

Man, the side effects are horrible. But you could luck out and get perfect vision with no side effects. its different for everyone, and its unpredictable if you will get it. Its like playing russian roulette, fvck lasik.

My advice is to not shop around for the cheapest lasik op, thats just asking for the bad side effects. Get the most expensive well trained and educated guy you can find.

The risks of lasik are pretty low if you are a good candidate. Just make sure you get several opinions. A good candidate to one surgeon is a bad to another. I don't think they'd allow lasik to be performed if it wasn't approved by the FDA...

Not sure about the contacts. I would give it a good month or two. Ask your doctor when you talk to him again.

If you're going to wear contacts anyway, why bother with the surgery and risk screwing with your vision?
