"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Hi all, just thought I'd share a realization I had the other day.

I'm a new RAFC, still posessing the majority of my AFC trends but at least i'm in the right mindset now... anyway

My big problem in starting new convos with girls was that I was always worried about what to say, finding that first line that would instantly grab her attention and make her realize that I wasn't a loser. I'd think of everything, how to open, where to go from there, how to close, and I'd try to pack it all into my head at once.

However, it doesn't even matter. What I haven't read in the bible or in any posts (or at least, that I don't remember), is that often times, you won't even have to do anything about how to progress the conversation. Heres an example that happened to me yesterday at the bus stop at my college...

me: "Hey, you didn't see the xxx bus come by recently did you?"
her: "Actually, *laughs*, it was just here about 30 seconds ago"
me: "Damn, thats not the answer I was looking for *smile"
her: "You live off campus? I'm still living in the dorms, do you like it?"

I didn't even have to try to get her to talk, she went ahead and asked me a question. I know everything here says be the alpha male and control the conversation, but this shows that there is no need to get worked up about planning every little detail ahead of time.

Ultimately, what this ramble of a post says is, the 3 second rule is your friend. Once you approach, just go with the flow....

Of course, this won't work if shes super shy / thinks your a dork :)

Just my 2 cents

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Good job and good post. It doesn't matter whether you got a #close or not, at least not yet. The obstacle you are trying to overcome now is approaching and continuing a conversation. You did well with both, keep it up. With practice of those two things, getting the digits will come just as smoothly. ;)

Thanks for the comment Francisco

About getting her number... I walked up to the bus stop planning on asking the cutest girl if my bus had already came. From a distance, she looked pretty cute ;) However, up close it turns out she wasn't as cute as I had hoped :) No big deal, plenty of fish in the sea.
